If Ian went out with just a backing track would you still go When I saw Ian and crew in Philly, his backup (really supporting) singers were essentially backing tracks. One male and one female (I forget who they were, but someone will bail me out here ) who did a lot of the heavy-lifting on some of the songs, but were recordings projected onto the screen behind the band. I would rather have seen Ian and Martin together, again, in Jones Beach in the 1990s, but that will no longer happen Sigh. But I'm glad I went to the Philly show at The Mann for sure! You've lost me here rredmond When did Tull ever have backing singers

You've lost me here rredmond When did Tull ever have backing singers I’m most certainly using the wrong terminology. But I think the one guys name was Dan Crisp. He wasn’t at the concert, his vocals were recorded and his face up on the screen behind the band. He song some of the songs with Ian but did a lot of the actual singing. It was strange for sure. Not sure what to call it.

I never read that whole article, but the only guy who was briefly in the band was the wonderful Ryan O'Donnell, who complimented Ian on a few shows. He is still doing great work, recently with a production of Jesus Christ Superstar I believe.

Images by Daniel Perez 🎸🎸 Rocking liturgy night in Malaga. Ian Anderson walked through the legendary Jethro Tull repertoire in a historic evening yesterday. Gems from 'Aqualung', 'Heavy horses', 'Thick as a brick' or 'Stand up' were mixed with other more relevant themes to a faithful, devoted audience.

Jack Clark is now 'Official TULL Guitarist' and he has proven himself starting March 6th Seems this has now gone official on the Tull site. Must admit this is a bit of a bummer for me, having just purchased tickets för the show in sweden this autumn. I really liked Joe, his playing and especially how it fit in the band’s sound. But I guess the new guy might be great too, and the switchup will likely give the next album a bit more individuality too. But I will miss Joe! Mr 007, do you happen to know of any videos of the new recruit playing the guitar with the band?

Surprise or not, I like the way this looks in terms of it being a clean break. Jack Clark seems to be very familiar with Tull music, the band itself and the touring blah blah blah, and Joe seems to have found need for a clean break for quite understandable musical leanings of his own. Millions of bands have had that happen. It's healthy to make it a clean transition, it can be a nice win-win situation. So nothing abrasive in this situation at all. So 2024 should be a great touring season for the Tullies.

Thanks Jtull007! I’ll be going to the stockholm show. Pretty good concert venue. I missed last time they were in sweden, the postponed covid shows, so I’m really happy to get to see the old goat again.
Well look at that… tull with no keys and two electric guitars. Crazy world! Did they do that in order to soften the impression of the covid playback keyboard, then?
