I'm the man who went to Cropredy once ever...1998.. and was treated to three perfect, clear, high temperature, cloudless sky, amazing days. The regulars told tales of rain that didn't seem possible.

I know many of you live in parts of the world where rain is not considered a catastrophe...but still...I'm a little sugar cube. I could melt if forced to sit in rain for 2 hours and 24 minutes...even watching Tull.

Yikes...sister warns me that it is raining A LOT in Seattle with no break in sight and I better bring rainwear ( what rainwear?) along for outdoor concert tomorrow. To quote Ian, yet again, 'Jesus Christ and John Lennon'...rain??? WTF ?

I have no idea why Ian wanted to include Solstice Bells when any of a hundred songs would have gone down better...like a nice instrumental to rest his voice...maybe Pibroch/Seal Driver without words? John/David grated on Witches Promise...but sounded pretty damn good on various other vocal moments. Small complaints but that's the job of the mega-fans on a website...overall a very strong performance.

OOOOOOOH Last night in Sacramento was really good. The smaller, indoor venue exposed some flaws...David and John sing well a lot, but awful sometimes. Ian was personable and happy, clearly playing to streaming audience and feeling confident in well oiled set.A lot of songs are too short ( size matters) My God, New Day Yesterday, Brick but, of course, all is forgiven for glorious Passion Play taste. Once more for me in Seattle, Sunday, with little sister. Audience very impressed, venue very full...it all bodes well for MORE TULL TOURS.

Hard to describe how impressed and overjoyed I was at Berkeley Tull. Ian really gave a lot of true Tull moments. the first half reminded me of last tour...a narrative about Tull during which Tull concerts burst out every song. Each and every song in the first half reached Tull nirvana. Really good. it went by so fast, I am so glad I get two more dips,
The second half? from the first note of TAAB till the last echo of Locomotive Breath...a full bore, amazing, perfect, mind boggling, gob smacking, ear kissing, eye-filling, heart bursting TULL CONCERT.
I promise to sit still and write better review soon . I cried a little during Brick and a little bit more during APP. I am counting seconds till seeing this setlist again tomorrow and next Sunday.
Summary: WOW.

Wearing my Tullianos shirt at work today...not quite dress code friendly but I'm going direct to Tull after work so any one who doesn't like my shirt will be invited to kiss my ass in the nearby Macy's department store window at high noon. Line forms to the left.

Apologies to all American and Canadian ticket holders if Ian or one of his helpers monitors our website and it results in change of APP to Cuckoo to spite me.

Good to hear mostly good news on eve of Tull season in California. Future prayers for your restored health and comfort will be hastily muttered during Passion Play snippets performed a day after tomorrow, next Wednesday and next Sunday. If APP has been replaced by Serenade for a Cuckoo, however, prayers for your health will be pre-empted by my self pity.

No, but I saw that world...my bike messenger service clients included those kinds of ad people ( J. Walter Thompson, Saatchi) who used bike delivery to convince recipients that crap press releases and other advertisement dreck was important and deserved attention, They also sent us to the art store to pick up sail size canvases that made bike riding in traffic a whole other sport. And they dragged their asses on paying bills.

Next couple days nerve wracking as I wait to see if USA setlist reveals any tragedies ( You know, drop APP for Serenade to a Cuckoo).

Maybe call it 'Outside' ? as sly Tull tribute to a song on one of your favorite albums and the point of the project ?

We should be able to coordinate a quick group pray for our friend and leader Graham...How about noon on Monday Greenwich Mean Time ( I never understood why it's mean?) Everyone ask Google or Siri or Alexa or your kids what time that will be where you live and send a Tull lyric to the big concert promoter in the sky requesting fast and full healing for Graham. So for me GMT-9 Pacific Daylight Saving Time...Oh No...3:00AM Monday morning. I'll do it, I swear....just set alarm on phone.

On this day in history, in 2018, none of the really competent, hard working and tech savvy moderators of the Tull Forum were around to upload ( is that what it's called?) our daily lesson...just humble me with a news flash that the Steve Wilson APP extravaganza from a few years back sounded really good in my car on the way to work and it is unseasonably chilly in Northern California, just in time for a camping trip that will drive one more spike in the coffin of my hopes to make my kid a nature lover.

Do we have enough money in the forum treasury for us all to go to Italy for a few days and see these guys? Tribute bands used to be a target of jokes and derision...but over the years many have evolved to very welcome opportunities to see great music performed live. The Martin Barre Band Ian Anderson's certainly proves that Ian Anderson compositions do not need him onstage to shine and over the years groups like Cold Flame and the Day-Glo Pirates have given countless thousands of people great nights out listening to Tull music. I mean, what is all classical music if not tribute bands? ( Let's keep that last statement among ourselves..I am sure there are strong dissenting opinions).

Love this thread. Is 'Don't look Back' the one that includes a young Terry Ellis being tortured by an overstimulated Dylan? Do you think if I printed the Spaghetti O's ad I could sneak the coupon by my local store cashier ?

Left on my own, over the years, I would say I listen to the big boys the most: APP, TAAB, Minstrel...but I am very directable so the ongoing re-releases have defined my listening...each time one of the deluxe editions has landed on my door step, it has gotten a lot of attention for many weeks...the new songs and alternate versions, of course, lots of time with the original songs that may have been neglected for awhile and full absorption of live stuff thrown in. And when TAAB2 and HE were new, they got a lot of attention too. I like my live collection as well and it is varied enough that I can grab something unlabeled and random and usually be happy with what I am hearing.

A huge amount of capitalism takes place on an on spec or own risk basis...business is a gamble...some ideas, creations, concepts, designs succeed beyond wildest dreams, some die on the vine. If an artist negotiates album cover art on a 'per album sold' or 'image copied' basis...good for him or her. Otherwise, you make a deal, sell something, get paid and its over and out of your hands and wallet. Silverman and his heirs should be glad for the fame and attention the cover art for Aqualung got him...he should be paying Ian a bonus.I don't remember seeing or hearing about his prominent career ( but I am too low class to know about the art world beyond big names like Warhol and Basquiat).
