Well Graham. I was with My brother,Uncle Dai and my Cousin Del from Hatfield. 6 or 7 rows back left of centre (did you have dark hair?) Didn't meet the band, didn't get anything signed and got lost on way home. Maddog 5 OWD 1 ( full time result )

Maddog 5 OWD 1 ( full time result ) Hair was a dark shade of brown and I had the agility of a 40 year old and the expectation that all might eventually be well with the world.

I'm sure it's great to hear...but some of these boots are crazy making...'A' tour songs, without Black Sunday, with pictures from 1978 and 1989 ? I suppose you could argue it's par for the course but even if some of the sleeves for these precious objects are perversely incorrect there's a certain charm and in some cases naïveté about them. Some seem to be by quite experienced artists and designers whilst others seem to be the work of enthusiastic fans - who am I to complain, it's a good thing these concerts have been preserved for posterity and the Tull Archive.

The famous Kent State University as in Neil Young's 'Ohio' I saw Tull on that campus in October 1976. I knew Martin and a very Tull heavy line up played NYC ( Someone sent me the BB King Club advert)....I didn't know there was a tour that got as deep and obscure as college in Ohio....wow. I bet it sounds great.

This is one of the bootleg recordings I treasure the most amongst all of the ones that I've got as not only is it one of the late Michael Veith's finest but also one that brings back many a fond memory. We'd moved down to Cornwall the previous year and I'd got myself employment at a local food factory which made deserts for Tesco and I found that there were quite a few Tull fans amongst the employees. About ten of us went and when we got to the Plymouth Pavillions I saw Michael there as he was in the process of doing one of his "round Europe" Tull holiday trips seeing as many concerts as he could. Although it was in February it was quite a warm evening and he was rather hot and he explained that he was wearing a thick jumper under his coat as he'd hidden his microphone under his jumper so that he would be able to get past security without being stopped which, when you think of it, was dedication to duty. After the concert we met up to say our goodbyes and he got my new address and said he'd eventually send me a copy and off he went into the night to his car and on to the next concert which was on Brighton the next evening. He was great supporter of the UK Tull Conventions and, if memory serves me well, attended almost all of them. The last time I saw Michael was in Basingstoke in 2006 at the Anvil Theatre and although he wasn't well, he was looking forward to the concert as he always did. He passed away in 2012 and I often think of him as he was not only a great guy but a die hard Tull fan and I often wonder what he would have thought about TAAB2 and Homo Erraticus. More about Michael with some tributes to him here jethrotull.proboards.com/thread/1896/michael-veith No hand written CDRs for Michael, he went "the whole hog" and did artwork for the shiny discs and would always send a copy to those who wanted one without asking for any payment - a true fan.

Interesting line up ? Here are some impressions of that evening: Martin's wife Julie worked the concession stand selling CDs and T-shirts. She's a big fan of Willy's material. The Kent Stage Theater, in Kent Ohio has a capacity of aprox 500. On a rainy cold Yankee vs. Boston night it had perhaps 100 patrons in attendance. This did not dampen the performance, the band were thrilled we had made it. They were loose and having fun bantering back and forth amongst themselves and the audience, between songs; telling tales and exchanging friendly jabs. The show was combination of Willy and Martin's solo material, new and old. An amazing experience to behold. Willy had toured with Jethro Tull on a few Rubbin' shows. He started as the warm-up act with Martin Barre, eventually the rest of the musicians joined in too. The combination of Willy and the rest of the band is fun and refreshing, bringing new life to each writers material. Martin played plenty of his new material from Stage Left, a fine collection of eclectic songs he has been storing up for release. Willy dig deep into his repertoire, presenting a selection of both new and old. After two sets and the show ended, Martin and Willy came out to the front of the stage to chat and sign autographs for the 40 of us still hanging around. They were looking tired but happy to be with us, before they had to strike the stage and pack up for the next night. Andrew and Doanne made their way to the front of the stage, with Jonathan following closely.

Maybe this is one way forward for Martin to explore again - not only a great line up of musicians but also a great set list. I'll have to send a copy to Martin and see what he says
