Didn't know there was 'Later That Same Evening' as instrumental hiding out on a 94 boot...whole song, like Pussy Willow/Peebreak or snippet ? I'll dig it out and get back to you. Such a chore

My most sad Tull gig ever...they played well...but the setting...a backwater county fair in a temporary bleacher setting surrounded by tacky carnival sights and sounds and mildly curious spectators who may or may not have already had there fill of rock music via 5 or 6 free bands before Tull that really epitomize the county fair circuit....two or three sidemen from 'War' using the name...some post punk band like 'Fishbone' and some horrible psuedo-ethnic fusion that i can't remember. Really depressing and made it hard to not face how low the mighty Tull had sunk...or tell myself they didn't understand the booking when they signed on. Yeah...Los Angeles County fair...but really an obscure mini-carnival in a vacant lot in Anaheim....surrounded by freeways and ferris wheel lights. Oh well...it only makes the return to Albert Hall and other, much better venues all the sweeter.

Many of the "outlets" for Tull bootlegs seem to have vanished into the darker side of the web and I ain't going there but for many years sites like takklesoft would have the covers for bootlegs and it's sites like that which I used to source the artwork as I expect many others have done as well. A guy I used to work with was a great Frank Zappa fan and we used to spend many hours on the night shift when we worked on the same production line discussing our musical heroes. His Zappa collection of ROIOs was immense and he had a dedicated "cave" to the work of Mr Zappa and had over 500 of his bootlegs as well as the legitimate items.

I know we chewed on this before...but remind me...they actually played 'Flying Dutchman', then or ever, or does the track listing mean the teeny intro that came and went over the years?

That's the ongoing fact of life of a west coast Tull fan...seeing boots and setlists from upstream in tours and mourning dropped songs, invariably new or rare.

Your boot collection is near the front door and easily transportable in case of tempest, turmoil, tall tsunami etc, I hope. I saw Bert's boot collection with my own eyes last summer....my own wide, envious eyes. Do you have more than him ?

The last time I counted my collection it was around 350 but there're a few more now. I'll have a re-counted and get back to you although I'll have to go by my handwritten list as a fair proportion are boxed up and off the display shelving awaiting our move - I wish Most are on CDr with a fair proportion also on memory sticks in case of fire, flood, plagues of frogs, visits by the spawn of beelzebub etc.

Not an easy cover to see I'll grant you and probably classed as being "a bit over the top" even for Tull bootlegs. Wonderful things magic mushrooms

Not in years order but that will happen .............. sometime

Amazing and admirable...Tull Central should really be aware of the historical and practical resource that you and Bert are. I used to have the Deadhead snob attitude about Tull boots...i.e: why bother...one or two per tour is plenty as they have constant sets not nightly diversity. But I now know how wrong i was..having dipped into the variety and surprises of boots shared by you and Bert.....' Life is long and every night's the first night'

Pete McHugh has a vast collection and so did Michael Veith and I hope his archive has been disposed of in a sensitive way. It's always interesting to see the alternative covers for many boots and I've no doubt other Forum members have the same concert recordings in different sleeves. Anyway, here's another of Michael's

Gotta give 'Pipe' credit...a bootleg that includes and lists the outro music that they played for many years ( Louie Armstrong)....details for severe Tullitus sufferers. Was it 'Greensleeves' for awhile too ?
