(ISTANBUL) - Progressive rock band Jethro Tull met with their fans at the Istanbul Volkswagen Arena last night. The concert, organized by Kod Music and the Pozitif experience, showcased the band's musical journey of over half a century with songs selected from a diverse discography. 77-year-old Ian Anderson's performance on stage left the audience in awe. Jethro Tull’s Istanbul concert consisted of two parts, each lasting 50 minutes. In the first part, they were on stage with a setlist that included pieces such as “Heavy Horses” and “Weathercock”, which were dominated by pastoral tones, and “The Wolf Unchained”, which was inspired by Norse mythology. In the second part, there were pieces that drew attention to global issues. “Dark Ages” emphasized the climate crisis, “Mrs. Tibbets” the nuclear threat, and the legendary “Aqualung” made the audience think by emphasizing poverty and hunger.
A show enriched with multimedia The show, signed by Ian Anderson, was combined with a visual feast. The performance, which also reflected the theatrical aspects of progressive rock, created an atmosphere with visuals that matched the music flowing on stage. In order not to distract the artists, video and photography were only allowed in the last 20 minutes. The audience at the Volkswagen Arena described Jethro Tull's performance as a "feast". At the end of the two-hour performance, Jethro Tull received a long standing ovation.
