I've been sorting through my vinyl collection in a hope of making CD's of them with a turntable gadget thingy I got for Christmas, anyway the first one I've copied is 'Twice Around The Houses' by Jonathan Kelly. Here's just one of those tracks. Anyone else got this album? Uploaded by SteveKelly'sVideo's I've never heard of him. I like the vocals/ story/video - is that album not classed as a rarity now? www.jonathankelly.co.uk/html/rareities.htmlGood write up here from his performance supporting The Strawbs fromthesummerhouse.wordpress.com/2010/09/29/loved-and-lost-jonathan-kelly/Way above the northern coast the seagulls circle high As to the west the sinking sun spills gold across the sky And homeward wend the Friesian herd to the ending of their day And Sligo Fair is just a week awayLovely lyrics Sligo's just a hop n skip down the road from me

My copy is safely tucked away with my vinyl in the loft. I once knew a chap (his name is lost in the mist of time) who rated him highly and used to perform some of the songs from the album himself playing his hand made Zemaitis guitar. I first saw Jonathan Kelly on The old Grey Whistle Test and bought his album straight away. Pity the BBC decided to destroy the tape and deprive us all of another view. I've tried everywhere to find a copy and up to now it doesn't exist. I understand Mr. Kelly had a long battle with drink and drugs after his early success, but here he is performing Madeleine at the Charity Concert in April 2005 his comeback concert after a 30 year absence. Hallo to all. I rarely listen to music that does'nt come from J. T , but i am a very Fan of the GENESIS. I own all their CD or DvD as well, and from few other artists, too. We have been very lucky to have a long holliday in a Middle East warmer beach with my family. There is no best occasion to find time to hear without any hurry some J.T Cd's i brought there. I could listen very carefully " A Little Light music ", " Catfish Rising " , " A " and " The Christmas Album ". Very few ones, indeed, but a good way to go in a deeper knowledge of that Albums M.

You can listen to Coldplay...I mean, the singer guy is married to the actress Gweneth P and I'm pretty sure Gael Anderson is/was a prominent member of her posse. It's likely young Mr Martin has been a guest at Tull Towers now and again...maybe Ian showed him the gun room.

Just heard this for the first time thought it was quite cool. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_OldhamWill Oldham aka Bonnie 'Prince' Billie. An American singer-songwriter and actor. "Oldham is known for his "do-it-yourself punk aesthetic and blunt honesty and his music has been likened to Americana, folk, roots, country, punk, and indie rock. He has been called an "Appalachian post-punk solipsist", with a voice that has been described as "a fragile sort-of warble frittering around haunted melodies in the American folk or country tradition." PLUS the video is shot where I come from

Listening to Disc 1 of Rhino Records' Graham Nash retrospective called "Reflections". A great set from one of the most prolific singer/songwriters of all time!

When the history of pop music is written, this guy will be pretty much at the top, along with Pete Townsend and Ian Anderson.

i'm listening to Get Lucky by Mark Knopfler. a brilliant album full of celtic inflection and twists. i wonder if IA and MK could ever work together. theres only three years in age between them! unbelievable. MK is, (along with Sting) perhaps my hometowns most famous son. i'll be buying the new MK album when it comes out next month.
