There was a time when you were so young and walked in their way, They made you feel they loved you all seeing they say. You're going wrong if their game you don't play, And that the song I sing will lead you astray.
Unfeeling, feel lonely rejection, Unknowing, know you're going wrong. And they can't see that we're just trying to be and not what we seem, And even now believe that it's not real and only a dream.

That song...sandwiched between Dun Rinhill and March the Mad Scientist...was such a beautiful moment on the '09 Ian tour...his comment...' uh uh uh...don't pretend you know this one'....really deserved a hall shattering, loud response: 'don't pretend we don't'...which I failed to provide...perhaps being dumbstruck by the song....

Today's random pick from the CD pile for the car ride to work unearthed 'Momus' anyone else ever cross his path?....He's very Scottish, very smart, but not as smart as he thinks he is, very influenced by Bowie and, I'm sorry to say, very dated in 2010. I must have about 8 of his CDs...ah the folly of...er...middle age...I must have been in my late thirties when he caught my ear and struck me as worthwhile for awhile...

He's funny, his vocals sound a bit like Donovan.. can't be bad if one of his heroes is RD Laing ( the psychiatrist - not necessarily the man) however a wee bit up his own jacksey - in the nicest possible way His books get good reviews - I'll give one a go

I am partial to a catchy tune I have to admit I do like the song and putting everything thats ever been said about the eejit aside, while agreeing, I think he does the song justice by not turning it into a twee love song with his snarling vocals and his attitude

Pink Floyd
Can’t really get my head around the fact that Piper At The Gates Of Dawn was released this week in 1967. Syd’s only album with the band, we went and saw them a few times namely at an indoor festival at Olympia around that time and also later at the Royal Albert Hall. The Olympia gig also had The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Burdon et al and the RAH was a package tour which included Jimi along with the Eire Apparent.

That video was made nearly 45 years ago and in terms of style and originality the words timeless and classic really do apply. Even down to the clothes - someone walking around in that gear now would be uber cool with only maybe slightly less flares on the jeans.

Live looping - new one on me "Live looping is a new way to create music which can be used with any style and instrument. The musician creates his own background by recording bits of his playing during the music and has them looping as long as he needs them or repeating whenever he calls them back. " livelooping.org/whatis.htmand Matt Stevens www.mattstevensguitar.com/page4.htm range of sounds totally unique and spell bounding

The best from Kate Bush in a while IMO. I heard somewhere that Andy Fairweather Lowe is singing on this track also. Is it true?

Been on a huge Beefheart kick lately. Still playing Aqualung at the present time. Strange that an album I've known and loved for all these years, has now been taken to a higher level with the latest issue. To echo Bernie's thoughts - bring on A Passion Play

Glasgow community radio station Celtic Music Radio is available on DAB across much of southern, eastern and central England for the next few weeks – as well as in Ayrshire and South East Wales. The station is using Now Digital’s ‘Pop Up’ channel on 19 local multiplexes to bring the Celtic Connections music festival to millions of potential listeners from later this week. Celtic Music Radio started as an RSL station in 2006, covering the world-famous event. It was awarded a full-time community radio licence in 2007 and has just had its licence extended by a further five years to January 2018. It broadcasts on 1530AM in Glasgow. The Celtic Connections festival starts on Thursday (19th January) and runs until 5th February with its main stage in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Celtic Music Radio went live on the Pop Up Radio channel this morning (Monday) and will be available on digital until 6th February. Founder Bob McWilliam said: “This is great opportunity for digital radio users across the country to get a taste of Celtic Connections and Celtic Music Radio local programmes. All they have to do is select Pop Up on their digital radio display and they will get Celtic Music Radio from Glasgow.” Pop Up Radio is on the following Now Digital multiplexes: Ayrshire, Berkshire & North Hampshire, Bristol, Cambridge, Cornwall, Coventry, Essex, Kent, Leicester, Norwich, Nottingham, Peterborough, Plymouth, South East Devon, South East Wales, Sussex Coast, Swindon, West Wiltshire and Wolverhampton. www.radiotoday.co.uk

All Rogues & Villains by The Duncan McFarlane Band. and unlike my internet connection it's flowing and rollickin along like a good 'un. Great passion fun and humour.. I'm still listening to it so I'll be back with my favourites. Love the album cover - Stand Up* with a nautical sense of humour. * or should that be Lying Drunk on the Deck

Kidz Bop 21...god help me...start with the crap songs from the lamest top 40 charts for brain-dead teenagers and the kind of people who miss disco...re-record them with synthesizers all over the place and eunach voiced 14-17 years olds and market them to grade school kids ready to go a half step beyond Disney anthems musically and...voila...the kidz Bop series...now at 21 and more than half in my car and home........the outcome is ironic....I end up actually missing the original Selena Gomez type release after hearing the Kidz Bop re-make. Ah fatherhood...

I've been sorting through my vinyl collection in a hope of making CD's of them with a turntable gadget thingy I got for Christmas, anyway the first one I've copied is 'Twice Around The Houses' by Jonathan Kelly. Here's just one of those tracks. Anyone else got this album?

Weather report, too. or whether or not to post a smiley to steelmonkey? Too tough! Wait, the smiley is to bug steelmonkey. Beginner's luck, maybe. Today, playing Jethro Tull on MCA Records, CD, eh. Rainbow Blues crazy. I like the order of this album, burned to the brain. Oh, but the rain wasn't made of water and the snow didn't have a place in the sun. Pouring rain here. The snow is gone. Really don't mind if you sit this one out. My words but a whisper your deafness a SHOUT.

I remember a cold vacation from first year in college...1975/76 ...and the joy of a new Tull song...yup...one new song ( and the previously mixed down tambourine in Locomotive Breath being audible on M.U.).
