Looks great. I am still shocked that Martin is not in Tull. Just read an interview from him in Prog Magazine from 2013. Guy is fabulous!

THE CELEBRATION OF THE JETHRO TULL'S 50TH ANNIVERSARY IS COMING TO THE CZECH REPUBLIC! The British legend Jethro Tull was founded in 1967 by the composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist Ian Anderson. A specific sound of the hard-folk rock band was added by the inimitable guitar solos of Martin Barre and Anderson's transverse flute. The band peaked in the 60's and 70's but still has a strong following till today. This year the members of JETHRO TULL prepare something special for you. The JETHRO TULL's MARTIN BARRE & BAND lead by the longtime JETHRO TULL guitarist Martin Barre, who collaborated with Paul McCartney, Phil Collins, Jimi Hendrix and others, wants to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary with the fans. And so he prepared a set composed only of JETHRO TULL hits. And as we have learned in the past, we can expect an original and greatly crafted show with the greatest hits of this Brittish legend and together we can think back to the 60's.
Don't miss out on this unique concert with the greatest hits of the biggest star of the last century! It's once in a lifetime chance! The "50th Anniversary Celebration - Best of JETHRO TULL" tour will stop in the Czech Republic on April 25 in Club Garage, Ostrava and on April 26 in Retro Music Hall in Prague. So be there! LINK

The band was set up by resort grammar school classmates Ian Anderson, Jeffrey Hammond and John Evan, who made their start playing the local scene in the early 60s. Barre joined the expanded line up in 1968 and has been with them ever since. A spokesman for the Monday, November 6 show said: “Martin Barre has been the guitarist of Jethro Tull for 43 years, his sound and playing having been a major factor in their success. “Martin’s guitar playing has earned him a high level of respect and recognition; he was voted 25th best solo ever in the USA and 20th best solo ever in the UK for his playing on Aqualung.” Martin has worked with many other artists including Paul McCartney, Phil Collins, Gary Moore, Jo Bonamassa and Chris Thompson and has shared a stage with such legends as Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. The spokesman added: “As Jethro Tull are taking a long break from touring, Martin has put together a band to play the ‘classic’ music from the Tull catalogue. “His band is a total commitment to give the Tull fans and a broader audience the chance to hear tracks not performed for many years. The band includes top musicians from a similar background.” Tickets cost £13.

For the past 40 years, his guitar work has sat at the heart of Jethro Tull, the band fronted by Dunfermline-born, Ian Anderson.
With Tull on a lengthy break, Barre has put together his own band to play their music, so expect to hear some classic stuff in the hands of the maestro - and that’s surely got to include tracks from Aqualung!

delraynewspaper.com/martin-barre-band-heads-bocas-funky-biscuit-25657Martin Barre Band Heads To Boca’s Funky BiscuitBy Staff - February 5, 2018 By: Jeff Perlman Editor-in-chief For 43 years, Martin Barre’s explosive lead guitar powered Jethro Tull to legendary heights. Barre’s expressive and explosive guitar mixed with Ian Anderson’s flute and distinctive voice enabled Jethro Tull to pack arena’s and dominate rock radio from the late 60s to the present. Tull eventually disbanded in 2011, but Barre is keeping the fires burning on the iconic band’s 50th anniversary with a tour featuring all the classics and new material. Barre and his band will perform two shows at Boca Raton’s Funky Biscuit on Feb. 9 and 10. Fans of Jethro Tull and connoisseurs of great guitarists won’t want to miss this rare chance to see a legend in an intimate venue. We recently caught up with Mr. Barre who was rehearsing in England before his U.S. dates. At 72, Barre remains passionate about music and after decades of a hectic recording and touring schedule with Jethro Tull he is developing another aspect of his talent—song writing. “I finally have the time to write my own music,” he said. “I don’t have a formula, I just sit with my guitar and my notes and I see what comes of it. Every day I experiment. It’s a process of discovery for me. And even if there are days when I don’t come up with much it’s still a good day because I love music and the process.” Barre feels he is still improving and evolving as an artist and guitarist. “I’m not sure if I’m getting better,” he says with a laugh. “I think the word is consolidating. I’m consolidating. I’m never going to be the whiz kid or the fastest gun in town. But whatever I have in my arsenal, I try to make it the best it can be. It may be just one note a day….but that note is getting better and better. I think you grow as an artist because you grow as a person.” Barre says he takes particular joy in playing and performing, whether on the road or at home. “I wake up, find a guitar or a mandolin and just play. It’s what I’ve done my whole life. It’s part of me. I can’t examine what makes it happen or why…but music has always been my best friend.” As he develops his songwriting chops, Barre finds inspiration in artists such as Don Henley, Neil Young and Jackson Browne. “They, among others, inspire me. The ability to write a melody that people remember for decades is something remarkable. That’s my goal. To write a great song or a few great songs that people will remember…that becomes part of music history.” It’s an aspiration already achieved by Jethro Tull with songs like “Aqualung”, “Thick as a Brick”, “Locomotive Breath” and “Bungle in the Jungle” etched into the memories of millions. “2018 is a big year for us,” he says. “It’s the 50th anniversary of Tull and we want to play that music, but we also want to share the new songs which we’re proud of. The band is really great so the fans are in for a treat. They are so dynamic and play with such power and energy. We can’t wait to get to Florida.” For ticket information visit www.funkybiscuit.com or call 877-435-9849.

ultimateclassicrock.com/cruise-to-the-edge-2018-review/CRUISE TO THE EDGE 2018: REVIEWRyan Reed Sure, nostalgia is part of the reason Cruise to the Edge exists. And most of it, as always, was utilized skillfully: Former Jethro Tull guitarist Martin Barre dusted off classics like "Hunting Girl," "Teacher," "Fat Man" and "Locomotive Breath" with ageless vigor. (His punchline game was also on-point: "[This next song was voted] worst cover of the year, two years over. It's really $h1t," he cracked, introducing a bluesy version of the Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby.") And the cruise's sleeper champions for the second straight year were Dutch prog icons Focus – led by the goofy and impeccably side-burned Thijs van Leer, whose soulful Hammond organ and jazzy flute highlighted the epic, multi-part "Eruption" and signature yodel-fest "Hocus Pocus."

ventsmagazine.com/2018/03/06/hrh-prog-vii-adds-jethro-tulls-martin-barre-amazing-bands-already-awesome-line/HRH PROG VII ADDS JETHRO TULL’S MARTIN BARRE AND MORE AMAZING BANDS TO ITS ALREADY AWESOME LINE-UP!RJ Frometa 16 hours ago HRH are proud to announce further acts, chosen by the HRH community, who’ll be rocking at HRH PROG VII between Thursday 15th-18th November 2018. HRH are particularly delighted to announce Martin Barre as Thursday’s headliner. Martin Lancelot Barre became lead guitarist for the legendary Jethro Tull back in 1968 and remained with the group ‘til Tull disbanded in 2012. Martin Barre’s virtuoso guitar playing, and creative input to Tull’s tunes, contributed to the band’s phenomenal album sales of 60 million units! Martin Barre himself is a highly-respected guitarist: Readers of both Guitar Player and Guitar World magazines (in the USA & UK) voted Barre’s signature solo Jethro Tull’s ‘Aqualung’ (1971) as an all-time great, whilst his guitar-work on the album ‘Crest of a Knave’ earned him a Grammy in 1988. Martin has also performed with giants like Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin and worked with many other icons, such as Phil Collins, Paul McCartney, Gary Moore, and Jo Bonamassa. HRH are delighted to have secured Martin Barre for HRH PROG VII. HRH are also proud to announce another 9 bands added to the Prog Rock talent rosta: Jadis, Karnataka, Time Collider, GU-RU, Luna Rossa, The Osiris Club, Deafening Opera, Southern Empire, and Exploring Birdsong. They join the 16 already announced: headliners Hawkwind and Pendragon; also The Strawbs, Martin Turner Ex Wishbone Ash, and The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, not to mention Panic Room, Gandalf’s Fist, The Attack (Featuring Davy O’List), Tír na nÓg, Goldray, Jump, The Amber Herd, I am the Manic Whale, This Winter Machine, Final Conflict, and Gryflet. More bands will be announced soon too! “After HRH Prog’s storming success over the past six years, you’d expect another outstanding line-up for the seventh cycle of what’s got to be the planet’s biggest residential Prog festival,” says HRH’s CEO Jonni Davis, “Well, that’s what you’re getting. The HRH community knows what they like, and we deliver!” HRH Prog VII will run between Thursday 15th-18th November 2018 at HRH’s favourite home base: Camp HRH, at the Hafan y Môr holiday park, near the seaside village of Pwllheli, in North Wales. One again, the festival will be taking over the whole site, to add in the ever-popular second arena, and providing state-of-the-art sound, lighting, along with quality accommodation and HRH’s trademark fun and shenanigans, including the Great Big HRH Prog Quiz, unplugged sessions, after-parties, psychedelic entertainment, and other fringe activities. For further details, check out www.hrhprog.com – 0207 193 0490.
