Legal problems with Martin Barre, while I won't be using my precious minutes to bother deciphering that, I will allow my common sense to speak, I will sum it up in three words, what a kroc, or however you spell that distasteful word. In a game of one upsmanship, and merely to make a point, I would love to see Ian or Martin ensnare them in a lawsuit, merely with an eye to curbing their speculations. And taking a look at that website, merely by their artwork I can tell they are among those who find currency in the likes of death metal. Boy would I like to introduce any of those comic book f***s to actual evil, and see if it might not make them grown up and humble in a damn instant. Embarrassing to even see information concerning Ian Anderson on that site. And absolutely one hundred good form situps to recalibrate their twinkie fed ass. Don't even dream of stirring that maggot laced pot around me.

Going to court over that issue would be a monumental waste of time and money. Now Death Metal may not be the the most enjoyable to hear, it has it's moments in creativity. Iron Maiden would be called Death Metal in some circles too. Sir Bruce Dickinson loves Tull. Sometimes we all feel disappointed with things we care deeply about. I respect that too. There are just too many folks who seem angry over the name Jethro Tull and it puzzles me. As long as Martin's name is on every Cd, Cassette, or Vinyl 12" record, except TAAB 2, why worry? He benefits just like everyone from the list of members back to 1968 from royalties. He should be grinning all the way to the bank. ;D Going to court would be silly.

The point being WHO is suggesting this. Not Ian Anderson, not Martin Barre, then wtf does it bear mention on this site? It is of a flavor of the sort of thing one see's in the checkout counter at the grocery store. As to death metal, Iron Maiden or even AC/DC do show me where it had its one second of creativity. I do mean one second. Yeah I know the one guy can pilot an airplane, I'm happy for him. That second opinion is more difficult to justify for the mere reason that music is subjective. Sorry, there are 2 kinds, good and bad, the vast majority bad across musical spectrum, the spectrums of metal and death metal beyond hope, and peopled nearly exclusively by people born after 1958. Seriously. Show me where that good death metal song was. Or AC DC for that matter. They have done their small part in paving the way to world wide ignorance, and nothing short of that. And btw, do not ever, EVER tell me to take it easy when you roll some bs like that past my awareness, or notions of how IA should administer the name of Jethro Tull.

"Without Martin Barre, Jethro Tull could not exist." - Ian Anderson

I won't tell anyone what to believe about music. There is what you enjoy and also what others enjoy in many forms and styles just like the 60's. Iron Maiden has been a creative force in music for many years and inspires others to emulate. Jethro Tull has also been a creative force in music which has inspired groups like Iron Maiden. The internet is full of contradictions and some believe every word of it. The name Jethro Tull is not a sacred word unless you profit by the use of it. The name Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson or Ian Anderson's Jethro Tull means money. For websites to be using the name Jethro Tull, it is just a generic term which even Ian will admit. When he gets up onstage it all means the same to him.

FORUM FOCUS: Ian Plays TAAB2 - 2013 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jethro_Tull_%28band%292011—present During interviews in November 2011, Martin Barre stated that there were no plans for future Jethro Tull work and he does not foresee any Tull concerts for the next two years. Barre planned to assemble a new band made up of three or four ex-Tull members. This which would play only Jethro Tull music, focused on early-to-mid-1970s albums and will not include a keyboard player. The band with which he toured in 2012, billed as Martin Barre's New Day, included Jonathan Noyce and played mostly Tull material. Ian Anderson has scheduled a Thick as a Brick Tour, playing the album in its entirety. On 30 January 2012, Ian announced via the Jethro Tull website that Thick As a Brick 2: Whatever Happened To Gerald Bostock?, a followup to Thick As a Brick would be released on 2 April 2012. It is billed as an Ian Anderson solo album and not a Jethro Tull album. Ian will subsequently tour for 18 months to promote the original and new sequel. On course; he does not foresee any Tull concerts for the next two years. too much fun

My main issue is with the unquestioned intimation of legal proceedings between IA and MB. Why you would print something of that nature and present it unquestioned is an issue to me.

Don't get lost in translation.
Kidding + Ian Anderson quotes often lead to the Ultimate Contradiction. Ultimate Contradiction is the new band name... ;D

My friends who know me already know that. Now the real issue is whether others can still speak of Tull without offending others. In a world of diversity (2013), we should all be happy that the name is so recognizble. It is never meant to cause anger or stress, if meant to describe what is going to be played in public. I remember a lady whom apologized to others after being admonished for saying she saw Tull last year. This was the most rediculous form of intimidation I've ever seen on this subject.

Of course I have no problem with whatever that wikipedia description was of Martin Barre for the simple fact that it is true. As clearly stated my issue is with this, highlighted as if it is of merit and consideration, from a person who appears to be on a mission to see Florian introduced as a member of Jethro Tull. Yeah I know. Florian rocks. And he plays with Greg Lake and his milk white steed.

The quote is probably better left as is: No translation needed. A choice of words.

It's always easy to speculate about why things get promoted in such delicate ways. I don't know the website personally, except they do seem to enjoy Tull much like we all do. They have nothing to gain except maybe a few more readers of their other postings. It just creates a little buzz (excitement) from time to time. Nothing more. Their other concern was giving out concert dates which the Official Website was so slow to do. That is more of an interest to me.

Got it;
Ian Anderson legal, Jethro Tull illegal. Illegal is always better.
