Our PA amp blew during the soundcheck but we had a spare but during the first half the spare blew leaving us with no mics. We asked that the pies & peas were served while we found another amp and thank goodness we managed to borrow another one which worked till the end of the gig. I didn't make too many mistakes but I have to say I thought I played 'Substitute' very well so today it's my song of the day. Last night Matthew I was Kieth Moon.

Oh the joys of playing in a band - I remember it well and have the scars to prove it. Misbehaving amps were par for the course, with my Vox AC30 sometimes having both me and the lead singer going through it for a while until someone got a soldering iron out and made temporary repairs. Vox AC30 amps - do they still exist ?

Well done under enormous technical difficulties... The show must go on! I remember seeing The WHO on November 28th, '75 when they played in Greensboro Coliseum. They did that song about going in and out and in and out and Daddy never sleeps at night Of course in those days no one seemed to get any sleep at night...KEEP ROCKIN' Sir John

Vox AC30 amps - do they still exist ? You can still buy a second hand Vox AC30 for up to £1,000. When the band I played with in the 60's split up we drew straws for what share of the gear we got and I ended up with a Vox AC30 Bass amp. I sold it for £28.

25 and 26 July 1974 Centennial Hall Adelaide, AustraliaLate addition to the tour. Centennial Hall, built to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Colony (later State) of South Australia, and to house the 1936 Centennial Empire Exhibition, was opened on 20 March 1936. It was considered to be a significant historical landmark, and was one of the few remaining examples of 1930s Art Deco architecture in Adelaide. However, the building developed "concrete cancer" and was closed at the end of the 2005 Royal Show because it was unsafe. Demolition of Centennial Hall commenced on Wednesday 18 July 2007. www.ministry-of-information.co.uk/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adelaide_Showgrounds
