Looks like the fencing has gone up around the building awaiting the wrecking ball.

Rock of Ages: The nation’s most iconic amphitheater celebrates 75 yearsFast-forward to June 10, 1971 and we find an audience not quite so polite for the sold-out Jethro Tull concert. As reported by Derek Etsler in a May 2014 piece for cpr.org, “Riots, rock bans and redemption: The lesser known history of Red Rocks,” 1,000 to 2,000 ticketless Tull fans were not happy with being corralled into the parking area behind the stage, where they could hear but not see their beloved Ian Anderson play his flute. When they charged the police line and began throwing rocks, the cops responded with tear gas, which the wind carried into the paying crowd. The concertgoers, on instructions from Anderson, covered their faces with their shirts, and the show went on. Needless to say, there was not a dry eye in the house. When Boppin’ Bill McNichols, Denver’s notorious curmudgeon of a mayor, got wind of the Tull fiasco, he issued a ban on rock at Red Rocks, which resulted in five years of “politely attentive” audiences for acts like John Denver, Carole King and (“Where have you gone, Pietro Satriano?”) the Carpenters. Just goes to show that even killjoys can have sports arenas named after them.

The sports banner says 'Tampa Bay' which means the actual venue may have been Tampa, Orlando or St Petersburg, Florida, all situated on Tampa Bay. The stage set up looks like the Oakland Coliseum set up I saw on that tour....the second to last of BIG TULL...Under Wraps tour in 1984 was also in a big place....but by 1987 the venues had shrunk one size down unless they were part of a bigger bill.

The Concert Hall where I first saw Tull is finally to be restored. It was known as The ABC Stockton when I went. From BBC news.... THE restoration of an historic theatre – where the Beatles played the night JFK was assassinated – takes a major step forward on Monday.
A false wall which has covered the front of Stockton’s art deco Globe Theatre will be removed to reveal the original wall.
It will then be examined and surveyed, to help architects decide what to plan next for the restoration, which will create a 2,500-capacity live music and comedy venue.
It is hoped the town will then attract big-name acts to draw in visitors.
