Srangely, my 5.1 Dolby AC3 is all over the place.......the volume shifts very frequently, and the whole album is affected, not listenable really.... The 5.1 DTS version is BRILLIANT though, and has no faults I can hear..... The reason might be that I am using a Sony 5.1 home theatre system DAVS500 to listen, and DTS is the Sony invention I think, so suits my player.... If there are lots of others having the same volume etc isssues with the Dolby 5.1 version I fear it will be re-called like the first TAAB remix.. I have a shi**y music system because I'm very poor - can I come round to yours? I can however manage a couple of cans and a bag of Doritos. That would be fun n/r..... I've had that system for a long time.. ...it's old but great quality... ....just like me......

You're welcome! And if you want this list in proper quality and the songs on this list in nearly the best sonic quality imaginable, you should buy this Edition! It's worth the money! The linernotes and interviews with bandmembers by Martin Webb are the best and most imformative since ages, by the way.

I think it's worth noting that the copyright for this release is owned by Chrysalis Records, a Warner Music Group Company so the good work that was done on previous releases by EMI is being carried on by the company who bought Tull's catalogue.
Let's hope it continues for the APP release and TAAB3 (for want of a better title).

Great to read all the comments about the new release. Does anyone know if the Vinyl edition comes with the same (maybe a 12" x 12" ..!!) booklet of the Cd + DVD edition? :-)
Or is it just the vinyl plus cover?

No booklet with the vinyl .... I don't know. A friend of mine who works in a record shop on the south coast reckons it's a rip off but he doesn't collect Tull so what does he know If I find out anymore I'll let you know.

Just spent some (pleasent) moments during this week end listening to the vaious versions; interesting stuff... Here is my TECHNICAL question:
In the booklet, SW states that he could not locate the multitrack tape and this is the reason why Witch's Promise was not remixed. SAD, but clear enough! If you go in the track-by-track details section of the booklet, you find that (on CD2 track 10) they say they could not locate the master reel for Teacher UK stereo MIX so they used a clean vinyl copy. At the same time, this track appears to be remixed (CD1 track 14). How could he have remixed this track from the vinyl copy and not do the same for Witch's promise? Anyone can explain me where the technical difference is? ;-)

Please forgive GOOGLE: qn.quotidiano.net/spettacoli/musica/2013/11/17/983401-jethro_tull_ristampa_lusso.shtmlJethro Tull, reprint of luxury " Benefit » back to life The " Collector's Edition " ( two CDs and a DVD ) also contains songs recorded in the same period of the disk. Glenn Cornick , one of the protagonists , tells the inspiration of the group leader Ian Anderson Michele Manzotti London, November 17, 2013 - It ' a record that has always threatened to make the fate of the crock pot between two iron tight as is temporally between two pillars as Stand Up (1969) and Aqualung (1971). Yet Benefit (1970 , in fact) is one of the albums most loved by fans of Jethro Tull and also one of the most popular among those who know little or do not attend the group's music . Because now the leader Ian Anderson has left the blues of the early years behind and still has not addressed the language of the " concept album " and the progressive that will characterize the group in subsequent years. The result is a search for a sound perhaps even indefinite, but capable of creating songs in the history of rock and English training . Today was reprinted Benefit ( Chrysalis / Warner) and remastered by Steven Wilson with the approval of the Anderson. The second CD presents it in mono and stereo tracks of rare and unreleased tracks and individuals associated with the Benefit period in which it was published . The DVD contains audio versions finally "surround sound mix " , Dolby Digital 5.1 and stereo album mixed by Steven Wilson's English and American versions with their ladders in high quality audio . In addition, training is one of the best in the history of Jethro Tull, because in addition to Ian Anderson (vocals, flute and acoustic guitar ), there are Martin Barre on electric guitar, Glenn Cornick on bass, Clive Bunker on drums (that is, the formation of Stand Up ) is involved his old friend John Evan on keyboards. In the credits of the disk appears as an added feature , but its presence is essential in the sound track in eight out of ten. The training will remain the same until the following year when Cornick was replaced by Jeffrey Hammond. It 'the same bassist of Benefit to tell some details on the album. What do you think of Benefit so many years after its release ? "For me this is the best album that I recorded with the group. I always thought that Ian wrote his best songs for this album although the fund does not love her very much. " How did the recording ? " We cut the album on eight-track at Morgan Studios with Robin Black as a sound engineer and the sessions were quite easy. As was usual in those years were recording a track day that was completed , mixed on the same day . We also had to fix the sessions between the concerts we had planned and not go into the studio to complete the entire album instead as we did . " Why a special edition was made for the American market ? "Personally, I was disappointed by the fact that the label in the U.S. wanted a track for the radio on the disc. For this reincidemmo Teacher , then on a single , to put it in Benefit. I never thought that this song was right and I never liked the way how it was incorporated into the new order of execution. Still I think that ruins the track list . Yet here in the U.S. where I live currently are remembered more for the bass line in Teacher more than anything I've ever done, even if you think it is not particularly good. I would have been happier if I were appreciated for that of the English edition of the song , or Inside . "

Just like many Tull songs, there's no point trying to work out the meaning to it. We just go with the flow and enjoy listening to our favourite band.

MUST! lol Yeah, they all have meaning. And the sand-castle virtues are all swept away in the tidal destruction the moral melee. The elastic retreat rings the close of play as the last wave uncovers the newfangled way. But your new shoes are worn at the heels and your suntan does rapidly peel and your wise men don't know how it feels to be thick as a brick.
