Tell Lucy she's lucky...for the Dad, the Concert and the job...don't tell her who said so...might devalue the assessment.

She is on the top floor but she is the supervisor so she may see some of the show. She is doing a degree for Music Event Management at Greenwich , so this is just her extra living money but she gets to see loads of bands and Lucy is music mad!!!

She was here last night just to sleep and pick up some tickets and has gone back to London now. There was a after party for the crew last night but she didn't stay to work that bar.Well those lads work hard and this must be the only gig where they stay the night. Lucy said she recognised music in the second half from pieces I play ;)and was surprised how much Ian moved around the stage.I filled in the blank "for an old guy"

Spenny is here. Been a hectic week. So, I was at Edinburgh and Perth, front row, sitting near SH. What a drummer he is! Edinburgh was almost full, I didnt see very many empty seats, unlike Perth. HE in its entirety was a joy to witness live, twice. At Edinburgh, IA completely missed his opening few bars on ÉTU then in Perth he seemed to have a stuck key on his flute. I can't remember what song it was during but the look on his face was a picture. The band played two excellent sets. Was interesting that at both, the crowd were very subdued during HE and very much came alive during the best of. A few of the best of songs I hadn't heard live before. Be interested to hear what the attendance was like last night. I was shocked at Perth. Empty seats everywhere.

A special review from last nights show. The O2 Review by Dianne (Kelpie)
The ‘Homo Erraticus’ World Tour 2014 at Shephard’s Bush Empire, Saturday 24 May, was a truly wondrous musical extravaganza through time and a visual delight. The first half of the program was the complete ‘Homo Erraticus’ album, which I have to say sounded even better live than the album itself. Ian Anderson is really amazing, he was up there playing on 1 leg and charging around the stage, he has such energy and a great stage presence. There was a huge screen in the background following the journey through time of the wondering man as the band played each track. There was a 20 minute break and the second half of the show was The Best Of Jethro Tull, this is when the audience really became excited. It started off with Living In The Past followed by Bouree, Sweet Dream, Teacher, With You There To Help Me, A Passion Play, Too Old To Rock And Roll, Songs From The Wood, Farm On The Freeway, My God, Aqualung and finished off with Locomotive Breath. Throughout this the background screen played old footage of Ian and was in perfect sync with what they were playing at the time. The audience loved it and gave them a standing ovation. It was a fantastic evening. I met some really nice people and the most amazing of all I met a Facebook friend from Canada who had come over for the show and coincidently was sitting behind me; it was great meeting and talking to you Pierre, and Mike, who I stood next to in the queue, it was great talking to you too. Great band, great music, great people, great show, what more can I say…Loved it. Europe and the USA you are in for a real treat…..enjoy. Dianne is currently trying to get a ticket for tonight's performance. Incredible!

Had a great Sunday night. Band played well and Ian's voice was good. Had a word or two with Mike Downs, for a sound engineer he makes a good doorman. My wife and I had a joke with Mike about his new job seeing as he opened the door for us both lol; nice man he waved to us later that evening. Meant Ryan and Florian ,who came up to me and asked for a light lol. Got an autograph from Ian again as well and Debbie got one from Ryan. One downside to the venue is because the bar is open all the time so too many folk keep getting up and blocking the view! There also seems to be a ban on talking photos on this tour, which I have not really seen before. Has anyone else spotted this? I will treasure every chance to get an autograph like this. Ian Anderson TULL
I believe the security in the U.K. has gotten orders from Tull Management to crack down on pics. They either feel it is a distraction or maybe a spoiler for future attendance. I disagree. Just as long as no flash and consideration for those behind you is made, it should not matter.
Great shot of the marquee too! Were there other banners or posters in the area?

I found the biggest distraction was loads of folk going to the bar when half the row has to stand-up to let one person out and then back again . One guy had to get a pint during the last number of the first half; goes to show he didn't know the album or was an alcoholic. I guess a front row seat would be best next time . I did see an official photography there by the way but he may just have been local press. Didn't spot any other posters around the area.

My dad and I also spoke to Mike in Edinburgh and Perth. Really nice guy. Met him in a restaurant in Aberdeen on the previous tour and was talking to him for quite awhile. I couldn't get any photos either. Would've loved to be able to wait for autographs but we had a bit of a journey getting home on both nights so we didn't hang around. Next time though!

I mentioned the flute problem in an earlier post on this thread, I think it was during Farm on the Freeway... ....in all the many times I've seen the band since 1972, I heve never seen that happen before.. ...and the flute he plays now is not a cheap one, I bet he was not a happy chappie....

Ok, looks like I have to leave Norway at some point this year....This sounds too good to wait another year until Ian possibly brings it to my shores. Germany seems logical...but then again Budapest is beautiful and sooner... They will do the HE-show there, according to tourdates on the Jethrotull.com. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xCYdyxQjRo
