Having been fortunate enough to see Pink Floyd in concert many times in their formative years my own prefernce is to the later recordings of the band when he took over the reigns from Roger Waters. The Division Bell is, and will remain, one of my all time favourite albums - one that I will never tire of listening to.

Jim you silly cracker ( my personal welcome) I wish you had shown up long ago...I'm banned on the other board so couldn't PM you...but my kid and i drove thru North Carolina last summer back and forth from an NYC-Florida Iron butt trip and I would've killed to spend a few precious minootas in your Tull cave. I was thinking of asking Ray to connect us but figured that would be a bit too forward and pushy...Can't tell you how glad i am to have your Tullness and experiences and positive attitude to current TULL production ...here's to summer dates in the USA.

Agree - The Division Bell is a favourite here. Quad rocks! Went to every Pink Floyd concert in this area. My wife & I won free tickets to the Division Bell tour. Loudest, deepest bass ever. "Banned from the Bored"I thought I was the only one. Initially there was a temporary probation or suspension. But that changed overnight into permanent dis-memberment. I love everyone. Even those who don't understand me. Thank you for your warm welcome. The Tull Cave is still evolving. Much like the group we all admire.

Pink Floyd were a huge part of my life in the early 70's ( not as big as Tull) Saw them at the Rainbow and your going to hate me for name dropping but I saw them courtesy of Fish and his then wife at Wembley '88. My ex knew Fish fairly well then and we went limo style from Bucks to Wembley with a couple of Marillion band members and had a fabulous time ;D It was quite bizarre standing at the bar in the VIP bit next to the cricketer David Gower - a Floyd fan.

Google translate: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Jethro Tull, por tercera vez, en Zaragoza blogs.heraldo.es/lavozdemiamo/?p=5883← disk Chaparrón Zaragoza Jethro Tull, for the third time in Zaragoza Posted on February 5, 2013 by Matias Uribe A derived from the Led Zeppelin entry on this other bound Jethro Tull. There was some controversy caused the state of the voice of Robert Plant to sing old and emblematic songs of the group. And all for its famous treble, now, with age, of course, is no longer enough. Ian Anderson, whose tessitura is not comparable to that of Plant, however heals health and live, to avoid sharp turns their old songs to a young singer who replaced him at the passages most committed. And, even if the recipe is a bit strange, it works. Or so they say. It will be seen next Thursday, day 7, in which 'Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull', as indicated by signs, will be the third time in Saragossa (the first, 1992, the second, 2000). And in this, focusing exclusively on 'Thick As A Brick' (1972), one of three masterpieces that he overestimated the altars of seventies rock and posterity. The other two were, no doubt, 'Aqualung' (1971) and 'Living In The Past' (1972), which does not mean that after, or even before, arrived great records, case of 'Stand Up' (1969), 'Minstrell In The Gallery' (1975) and 'Songs From The Wood' (1977). Do not forget the impact that caused the release of the album in Spain, the first group that arrived here, wrapped in leaves of a fictional newspaper provinces and appearing in a photo where galardonaba to an eight-year-old Gerald Bostock , who had written the lyrics of the album. A fantasy behind which was the same Ian Anderson. Within 45 minutes of music sectioned into two parts because of the length of the sides of the old vinyl, that is, a long suite, written in parodic plan on what was then practiced Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Genesis or Yes, and a hodgepodge of sounds and unpublished baroque to rock era in a circular structure mode beethovianas symphonies where the main drawing came and went throughout the composition. Shocking, I say, as shocking were those ragged beggar pints of Ian Anderson, evoking the evil exploiter of children of 'Oliver' (later learned, like so many things, it was a reminder of his years of hardship in sweeping a cinema London for a few pounds). The admired Jordi Sierra i Fabra, despite Manriques Costas and we put the long teeth explaining the LP groove to groove on Disk Express, as in England, Jethro Tull had as one of its sacred beasts in those early seventies. The same as today? No, of course, at all. The prime-time Anderson and his masterpieces already happened years ago-he told me at 92 that it was Jethro Tull-a harmless group, but like any masterpiece, If 'Thick As A Brick' and dies. I do not know how a young person today levied a record like this, or even perceived, let, if known or shown interest in him, but there each with his years and his generation of what is certain is that remains a majestic work. So surely those who come next Thursday to the Congress, even without any of the original musician who accompanied Anderson (ay, Martin Barre), will explore great listening again 'Thick As A Brick' and his then recorded last year, which apparently also plays. Or so say those who have seen a concert of this tour commemorating the 40th anniversary of the album. Any action for old coaches? Why nostalgic? Or to people in general who enjoys good rock records ageless? Take, by the way, also to remember how difficult it was the arrival of 'Aqualung' to Spain three years after its release, because of Francoist censorship. Oh, friends, those were difficult times for discómanos.

Jethro Tull has continuously since 1967 in the music industry. Over 40 years publishing works that reach the 30 publications, and touring the world with sounds that Ian Anderson and his men have evolved to go through the various sub-genres of rock. The memory will always have to Blackpool, England, as the band released in 1971 'Aqualung', his most recognized and one of the greatest albums of the best rock stage. In the first steps of hard rock meets poetry against criticism of religion and society in the hands of characters who are going through the 11 songs as the alcoholic character. The best part of it was the British also includes great works as 'Benefit', 'Thick As A Brick' or 'War Child', released in 1974. If over time Jethro Tull has been declining among British rock heavyweights, has always kept an attitude of perseverance that his great fans have thanked and has renewed its ranks and increase its young audience. His visits to Spain are successive and February 6 count a new visit with Anderson at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Mil.lenni festival.

Don't think in circles, it'll do you in. No soap the radio, as we used to say in the old folky days. Made me look. Despite my own judgement. We'll go round in circles. haha en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_soap_radioNo soap radio is a traditional punch line for a prank joke. The body of the joke is not related to the punch line itself, but is made out to be humorous by participants in the prank. The first known reference to this form of anti-humor was in the late 1940s.[1] The punch line is known for its use as a basic sociological and psychological experiment, specifically relating to mob mentality and the pressure to conform. The basic setup is similar to the Asch conformity experiments, in which people showed a proclivity to agree with a group despite their own judgments.

The band was founded in the distant 1967 in London and since then has released thirty albums and accumulated 80 million copies sold, an authentic record of permanence in the great circus of music, although for a time out and the big stages. Has started the concert, scheduled within the Festival Mil · lenni, with the screening of a performance that introduces the explanation of Gérald Bostock, the child star of the album "Thick as Brick", whose cover was a newspaper down and surely one of the most popular covers rock history. The video has led to the first song of the night, an updated version of that "Thick as Brick", a theme in its original lasted 43 minutes and took the two sides of vinyl. The new version retains almost intact the instrumental, the unmistakable flute solos that Anderson manages so well-even with their balances and acrobatics with his left leg raised despite his 65 years. To compensate for the power loss of voice, Anderson draws on the most demanding vocal parts with a second singer, who even imitates the voice of the veteran author of "To old to rock and roll, to old to die", or on other occasions has recited excerpts from the letter which bard. In addition to Anderson's band, also only kept the veteran guitarist Martin Barre in Jethro from the second album, "Stand Up", and the rest is composed of bassist David Goodier, drummer Scott Hammond, keyboardist John O ' Hara, and Ryan O'Donnell alter ego voice. The first part of the evening was devoted exclusively to Jethro that album released in 1972, a long and theatrical symphony, with a drum solo included as before. In the second part, the band has presented topics continuation of that album, "Thick as Brick 2", subtitled "Whatever Happened to Gerald Bostock?", In which Anderson continues telling the story of Bostock forty years later. This latter work begins "Thrown From a Pebble" which recalls some notes in 1972 and the disc begins with a medieval atmosphere and just as a pure piece of rock in which Anderson's flute alternating with the mandolin, followed by "Pebbles instrumental" and "Might-have-beens."
