The sample song sounds like the best of Homo Erraticus more than softer Zealot Gene. No opinions on how to say the album's name? RökFlöte - Wikipedia The album mostly revolves around the characters, roles, and principle gods in Norse Paganism, As well as "Rock Flute". The name of the album comes from "Rock Flute" as the original idea was to make an album of mostly instrumental flute music. But eventually Ian Anderson stated that he was drawn to the phrase Ragnarök with "rök" meaning destiny, course, or direction. Ian Anderson would then change "Flute" to "Flote" to "keep with the spelling"

Alan Hearton Absolute honour to share a stage on Hammond and piano with the legendary Martin Barre and his band in Kinross this weekend, playing classic Jethro Tull in their own inimitable style. Martin, Darby Todd, Alan Thomson, Dan Crisp and Joe Garcia on sound knocked it out of the park every night.

Review by Tam Stewart Just got back home with Jim from our favourite venue Backstage at Kinross. Often we talk about Legends well tonight we saw a true Legend "Martin Lancelot Barre" and his band. Martin was the lead guitarist for Prog Rock Giants "Jethro Tull" for 43 years, he was the main sound of the band. Tonight on Bass Guitar was Alan Thomson who played with the late great John Martyn, Pentangle and many others.
On guitar and Vocals was Dan Crisp who is outstanding especially with the Tull music, on Drums Darby Todd who has played with many well known musicians and bands.
Tonight the Band played two great sets, the first consisting of Martin's own stuff plus a mix of Jethro Tull music. The second set they played the full "Aqualung Album" it is now 50 years old and was a major hit for the band. After they finished they got a very well deserved long standing ovation. The musicianship was outstanding. That's another few miles added to this neverending musical journey and yet another truly F....ing Awesome Gig....Next gig 8pm tonight, same venue, same band and another few hours of Martin Lancelot Barre and his amazing band...

Ginnungagap (Official Video) taken from the album ‘RökFlöte’ Animation created by Costin Chioreanu The track takes inspiration from the god Ymir, the proto-being, a primeval being, who was born from venom that dripped from the icy rivers called the Élivágar and lived in the grassless void of Ginnungagap. Lyrics: This first and elemental flesh - Both man and woman - falls awake From void and darkness, frost and flame - From sleeping Ymir, a world to make. The wordless voice, the scream, the howl, Pure essence fills new earth and sky; Ancestral form of myth and legend, Giants, gods to glorify. Father, mother to them all, The bleak betrayal comes to pass As daughters, sons, bad families, Are cut from stone to break like glass.
I dream of spaces, emptiness, Deserts golden, endless dome, Dome of blue with white clouds scudding, Folded origami, home. Home to all creation, vistas Of foreign lands. We conjure ghosts Of prebirth state, primal recall: The calm amongst the heavenly hosts.

A Winter’s Snowscape has to be one of the finest instrumentulls that they’ve done. I find it interesting ( there are no conspiracies but there are no coincidences) that the very last Tull song played and released with Martin was a Martin composition. I see what you did there! All bands experience change unless they stay stuck in a musical time warp. Ah, but what if I want to stay in the musical time warp. The FUTURE IS NOW !!! But I do love A Winter's Snowscape

Just spotted this (although can't verify the source): Ginnungagap fb.watch/i7TeHHstdz/Ginnungagap, in Norse and Germanic mythology, is the void in which the world was created. So maybe more myths and legends than religion? Anyway, sounds promising from that snippet! #ginnungagap LINK

This appears to be a German Search Webpage : Jethro Tull - RökFlute Interview 065:23 FSK SUCHERGEBNIS With so many possible names for the new album I would not rely on this one. I'm not too concerned about the subject matter, for me, it's all in the execution. After all, you could argue that TPP has a religious theme, and although Lucifer is still an awful fellow, that didn't turn out too badly I AGREE... People have been burning TULL albums since 1971. Ian Anderson writes some songs which are critical of many things ...

The TULL DEVIL 2023 I love that artwork! Is this going to be the new album cover? So much better than 'The Zealot Gene' album sleeve! This could be a possible cover and the title is yet to be announced Some people might be offended for religious reasons but ... not me !!!

From Daniele Massimi LINK Waiting for the title ... here are the words of Ian : “We put the finishing touches on the artwork and completed recording and mixing a few weeks ago. Given the usual long waits for print and vinyl production, the release is scheduled for Spring 2023, but over the weeks and months to come, you'll hear some sneak peeks along with more information on what formats it'll be disposable. It's a bit too early to reveal some titles, tracklist and content. I hope you like the concept and the topics discussed. It's been long hard work especially getting the footage recorded during the hectic tour schedule these past months, a day here, a day there, every once in a while two days off in a row... I wrote the main themes and lyrics in January this year and sent the first demos to the band in February and March, just like I did with ‘The Zealot Gene’ in 2017. Most of the recording took place in June and August with the stereo mix done in September. My new friend Bruce Soord of THE PINEAPPLE THIEF curated the surround mix and alternative stereo mix instead. "
