Sweet Dream 1971 ilGagio89 One theory is that this is TOTP's and not an early German programme? Maybe some missing links hidden in Germany ?

Hello Nonrabbit, I'm sure it is from TOTP 30th October 1969. Some TOTP clips were shown on German TV in those old times and I remember watching it in 1970. So this little German docu from 1999 included this snippet from way back: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsCFRt10sdAGlenn states on his homepage it was probably TOTP but remembers it wrongly as LITP, which we all can hear is a mistake: www.cornick.org/gallery/jethro_tull_archive_1/avo?full=1So TOTP 30th December 1969! And yes, we here in old Germalands asked the broadcasting stations, but without any success. Should give it another try... Cheers 10cars

I've only got round to watching the full version of Swing In - I'm right in thinking it was a German production? It's the best! The full interview with his mum and dad is ...well I have no words. His mum pointing to the newspaper clipping and pointing out; "The Beatles, Rolling Stones and Jethro Tull" The camera at the end (on Ian's instructions) panning around the campus (?) and taking in the amazing reaction from the audience is some of the best Tull reaction clips on record. Yes please keep trying to get more. Cheers Patti

... yea, of course I keep trying to get everything! Swing In was a german production and when it was aired on 27th November 1969 I watched it and it changed my life, because this was the day I became a true Tull follower. It's really nice, 'though quite amateurish and naive, but that makes the charme! Cheers Carsten

He must laugh when he looks back at it. He’s a lucky man to have so much of his (musical) life documented and the fact that he hasn’t made many embarrassing blunders, as far as we know, shows the wisdom remained… and matured.

Quite an epiphany moment for me, together with My Sunday Feeling, and a song I shall have played at my funeral When you're falling awake And you take stock of the new day And you hear your voice croak As you choke on what you need to say Well, don't you fret, don't you fear I will give you good cheer Life's a long song Life's a long song Life's a long song If you wait then your plate I will fill As the verses unfold and your soul suffers the long day And the twelve o'clock gloom Spins the room, you struggle on your way Well, don't you sigh, don't you cry Lick the dust from your eye Life's a long song Life's a long song Life's a long song We will meet in the sweet light of dawn As the Baker Street train spills your pain All over your new dress And the symphony sounds underground puts you under duress Well, don't you squeal as the heel Grinds you under the wheels Life's a long song Life's a long song Life's a long song But the tune ends too soon for us all
