Ah the delights of bootlegs! This one makes a big deal on the sleeve notes about "correcting errors, when in fact by altering the speed they managed to ruin it, it plays too fast throughout. As Ian was full of cold and unwell at the time he was struggling to sing properly (he says so during the show). My guess whoever got hold of this took that as slow playback and speeded the whole thing up. Luckily there is a better recording of the same show"Songs from Manchester" that hasn't been fooled with. AS an aside I see the Hamburg 82 boot still contains songs added from the "A" tour. irritating really . |
