"So which Jethro Tull will we find on the March tour of the UK?"
“A bit of this, bit of that,” says Anderson.
“There are the favourites, of course, plus a few songs that haven’t been aired so much over the years. It’s a chance to dress them up a bit… push them somewhere else.”
“And any new writing?”
“I was writing last night, actually. Up late and writing. I have sent material over to America where the band are working on it. That’s kind of how it works these days but they seem to like what I am doing.”
Maybe the "new writing" is the reworking of previous Tull songs? "It’s a chance to dress them up a bit…" ;D

That's not how I interpreted it. Sounds like new material. I'm pretty confident that's what it is.

“I was writing last night, actually. Up late and writing. I have sent material over to America where the band are working on it. That’s kind of how it works these days but they seem to like what I am doing.” From Chea Can I see a trend here reverting back to early Jethro Tull days just before This Was and indeed later with some passages from Passion Play and also, if my memory is working correctly, the song Dark Ages amongst other instances, that Ian Anderson may writing music/songs that are being performed before the band get into the studio to see if they gel with the other band members and importantly the paying audience instead of spending three months in a recording studio laying down twenty five tracks of which only twelve to fifteen are going to be used. It would seem somewhat logical bearing in mind the geographical separation of some band members as has already been mentioned. Instances of what we know to be new songs or tunes are: A Change Of Horses Tea With The Princess Child Of My Garden (performed at Tunbridge Wells, 28 September 2009) The Donkey And The Drum Birnam Wood To Dunsinane Add a couple of Martin Barre instrumentals and there you have possibly one third of an album. Now I’m not saying that all the above are candidates for a new record, although I would argue that the first two most certainly are, but it will be interesting to see if a three or four new songs appear in the set list of the up-and-coming tour - included to determine the reaction of the audience.
