The first seconds of the Ian tour were pretty memorable...lights on-revealing Ian and Florian perched on stools...Ian smiles broadly-looks straight at the audience and points once, animatedly, into the crowd while reciting the spoken intro to Dun Ringhill. Something about the way my heart and brain do backflips, the first time I see the man live after how ever many months or years, gave new meaning to the phrase : 'The weather's on the change'..........being relatively concurrent to Ian Anderson ( I am 10 years younger...just right to give him a headstart...) is the main reason I have never wished I had been born in any other era...or the future.....It's good to be alive in the Tull era!
Mick Abrahms in distress is a low point...read the book and re-visited the music this year ( I have and love the Mick Abrahms Band album...the one with 'Greyhound Bus'). Hope he comes back strong and unimpaired!

The highlights for me had to be the Flutewise concert in May at the Barbican in London and the “acoustic/solo” concert at Yeovil in September where Florian Opahle showed that he is now a fully fledged member of the extended Tull family of musicians. It was also good to meet a couple of the forum members at the Flutewise concert.
Some great DVD releases which surpassed all expectation and the release of the St Brides show on CD from 2008 which showed a different side of the Tull experience.
Lowlights had to be Mick Abrahams’ recent illness but the knowledge that so many people have rallied round in support, including past and present band members, must mean a lot to all of us and to him as well. Martin Barre’s broken finger is also bad news but as reported on the official site he’s in good hands (no pun intended).
Finally, I’d personally like to wish all Tull fans, wherever they may be, a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Whatever our differences of opinion or likes/dislikes really pale into insignificance with Mick’s illness and I hope 2010 will see him on the mend and playing again.

We're both exactly the same age - vintage year and I was always a bit envious of those about 5- 10 years older than me as they really did experience the late 60's when all I could do was watch the hysterical screams from our parents when it came on the TV!! However that phrase "just right for a headstart..." is a great way of looking at it - we were still there when they were playing and producing great/new/different sounds - we reaped the benefits of the preceeding years Thanks Professor

Hi Tullite.I envie you very much for the picture of you with Ian.How did you find him at a railway station?By chance? Patti, the Christmas Album with snow moving is a very nice idea. Thanks for wishes. My Tull highs this year are happily many: Concert in July in Udine. Concert in September in Riolo. Concert in September in Buxton. (Got tickets for Manchester in March 2010). Lows are Ian's and Martin's finger problem, not as serious as Mick health problem.Luckily it seems it is gettim better for Mick.
