The October issue of Classic Rock magazine features an interview with Ian to promote the solo tour. There's a comment that says "Anderson hopes there will be a new Tull album next summer". OK, he's ocassionally hinted at some recording work, but a new album AFTER the UK tour? I can't see it, but I hope I'm completely wrong!

The five part interview on you tube has him crowing about two months in his studio ( jan and feb 2010) that and two new songs being played is enough for me to be optimistic...of course, I've been playing the lottery twice a week since 1986 when an astrologer instructed me to 'leave the door open a crack' for destiny...and must be a few hundred in the hole by now.

My understanding is there is already a lot of new recorded music in the can. Now Ian mentions Jan/Feb is put aside for recording, probably the longest period of Ian time dedicated to recording for yonks. Who knows, maybe we'll get a double album!

It was revealing that at Yeovil, and I suspect at the other solo concerts, he had the words to "Tea For The Princess" and "Change Of Horses" on the stage by his mic stand. I would guess that these two songs haven't been recorded . . . yet.

Well spotted Inspector but you shoud have grabbed it ! someone asked one of the roadies last year for the hand written set-list and got it.

I would like to think that 'Birnam Wood to Dunsinane' and 'Donkey and the Drum' which were aired in the 2007 acoustic tour, have already been committed to tape, hopefully with one or two others. I also think there's a good chance Ian got the original instrumental versions of 'Tea with the Princess' and 'Change of Horses / Celtic cradle' recorded at the start of the year, only leaving the vocals to add on at the end in his usual fashion. In which case if he can commit a couple of months to some more writing/recording the muse takes him there might still be enough material for a new CD! ...or am I being too optimistic?
