In case some didn't know, our very own ex Tully Martin Allcock now plays in a folk band covering punk classics with Adrian Edmondson, better known as Vyvyan from the classic 80's comedy The Young Ones.

Saw the Bad Sheps live at Middlewich Folk and Boat festival in June, they are amazing! Going to see them again in Manchester at the end of this month.

That was good ! Think the punk/rock thing works well too. Didn't know Ade Edmonson could sing. Is it just me or is Ade turning into Graeme Garden? i25.images obliterated by tinypic/ng3o2d.jpg[/IMG] i30.images obliterated by tinypic/330tfvd.jpg[/IMG]

I see Maart and Ade have parted company. Lasted longer than I thought, although I never saw them. They carry on without Maart though:
MAART LEAVES THE BAD SHEPHERDS
I have really enjoyed being a Bad Shepherd in its first year, but the band's current workload denies me the chance of working with other artistes, something I have treasured since leaving Fairport Convention many years ago. For me, variety really is the spice of life and although I got the chance of working with Andy Dinan, one of the best fiddlers it has been my privilege to share the stage with in 30 years, I have many other things to do. I wish the guys all the best and no doubt we'll all see each other in a backstage bar some day.

Thats a real shame. Saw the Bad Shepherds at Cropredy and they were excellent. I just hope Maart leaving the band wont stop their wonderful arrangements of punk with trad. folk tunes.
