Was the Maison Rouge not a mobile recording studio or something Sure ive got a review in an old guitar mag somewhere, will have to dig it out They were two different set-ups. The Maison Rouge studio was in Fulham Broadway and the Maison Rouge Mobile was, for example, taken to Monte Carlo when Tull recorded Minstrel In The Gallery, and others I suppose it was similar to the Rolling Stones' mobile but its existance is a mystery. Probably failed an MOT and junked.

Probably failed an MOT and junked. I remember running somewhat excitedly after a jeep on the road that went from Broadford to Elgol on Skye, probably in 82, as it said Maison Rouge on the back. Probably was Ian's jeep but it was his farm manager, Ian Mackinnon. In fact that was 85, rainin like a mother, and he let me sleep in some big old tin shed that housed the salmon pellets and such, a tale I am sure I have related on here. I know I have related the part where he told me he could not imagine working for a finer gentleman than Ian Anderson. Pretty sure it was the same shed Ian can be seen, sitting in that big old tractor tire, playing his flute for the Rock Island tour thing. His Stormwatch field glasses seemed to be in there, (coulda stolt them all Chicago style, or I guess that would be boosted them)and he and James pulled up in the morning. It is demented to know his son and his wife's name, but like most of you, I do.

Key word 'pose' Ian cannot look at a camera without some obvious, well-rehearsed posing !

A better view of the Olympic Studios building The Rolling Stones Rehearsal Studios, Bermonsey Abbey Road where Sunshine Day was recorded in January 1968. The John Evan Band recorded there in late 1967 Regent Sound Studios in Denmark Street. The John Evan band recorded in the studio in April 1967. It's now a music shop, the studio was located in the basement.

Key word 'pose' Ian cannot look at a camera without some obvious, well-rehearsed posing ! I cannot think of one entertainer who has as many great poses as Ian. Most will spend their entire carreers trying to get a couple of decent shots while Ian has countless classics. Ian was truly born for the camera and his pictures seem quite natural and unforced.

Great link to Maison Rouge. Lots of big names like GENESIS, Thin Lizzy, Duran Duran, Rory Gallagher, Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks... Very impressive. Is this near the Fulham Road where there was a 'rush' in 1973?
