Classic songs that you hadn't a clue what the lyrics were about either by sound or sentence ........ pregoogle days.... The songs that you gave up even trying to sing the verse and just joined in at the chorus - OR WORSE sang the wrong words No 1 ;D ;D

On Home, instead of "down steep and narrow lanes" for some reason I always thought Ian was singing "I'll sleep an hour late" (you know, when he gets home.)

I remember a guy telling me that he thought the line in Heavy Water, "big drops hissing on the neon sign" was actually "big dogs pissin' on the neon sign".

I always thought 'smart guys aren't running, they're home and dry' to be almost the exact opposite: 'Smart guys are outrunning the whole damn tribe' In 'Part of the Machine'.

My little sister and I spoke English and Hebrew as kids...but we hadn't reckoned in Spanish when we sang along to 'Guantanamera': 'One kind of meadow-there's only one kind of meadow...one kind of meeeeeea-dow!

Probably because I locked myself into bathrooms in office buildings to smke heroin during my messenger days, I thought Ian was describing the Stel Monkey as a 'High rise junkie'...not high rise jockey'.

The first few times i heard the passion Play edit that was on the radio before th album was released, the overseer overture, I thought he was saying 'over the earth' where he says 'overseer'.

Bee Gees song with the lyric "You come to me on a Summer breeze". I always thought it was "You come to me in a submarine"

'hey, senator, pass us that bottle'. Thats my favourite although would be embarrasing if they played it at a concert and your singing along a bit like when I'm obliged to turn up at a church for something and I'm miming the wrong words

In the romantic climax of 'What Ifs, Maybes and Might have Beens'....I really like all three possible conclusions:
Love without Pain Love without Name Love without End
which is it ?
