Perhaps I could add visuals throughout the thread.

What are you? A parochial school virgin or a grown up Tull fan? In otherwords, how many times do you need to be asked? Tell the story before I switch to jewish foreplay and beg...

Some of us are lurkers by nature, Jeff. Doesn't mean we're not paying attention, nor interested. I thought you were doing the whole teaser thing, and dragging it out. So....I have my coffee, sitting in the easy chair, got my shoes kicked off...I'm all ears...

Jeff, I guess you threw everybody with the "more to follow" line. I must admit that after reading that I was in fact waiting for more to follow.

Jeff, I guess you through everybody with the "more to follow" line. I must admit that after reading that I was in fact waiting for more to follow. Trust me, the story is long, and requires patience, but it is quite gripping and really a scream. It will not disappoint. Jeff I'm looking forward to it this time around. And I think we were all practicing patience.

Marsha was a pretty hot Jewess. She was slim with nice legs and shoulder-length curly hair. As part of her act she made these finger puppets which were in the shape of moose heads with antlers. She had several different moose characters, male and female. Mike took her with us to the second night at the Paramount. That's when Ian had gotten into great shape. I remember Marsha saying after the show how sexy she thought Ian was. More later.... Jeff I went to both shows at the Paramount. The first night was awful. Ian's voice was terrible. But he bounced back the 2nd night.

I went the 1st Paramount nite too......agreed. Ian kept going to this machine (like a brochial-dilator thing w/ smoke coming out of it) do you remember that?

Also.......I remember at the very end of the show, after he said thanks and said the band members' names, Ian did this weird bow and said to the crowd: "Apologies. Apologies". B/c of his voice.

I skipped the 2nd nite but went to Nassau Colisseum coupla days later. It was weird. They put a big curtain or make-shift wall at half-court (for you hockey fans) and Nassau became half its normal size. They prob didnt sell enuf tix, so had to resort to this. It was strange.

Which reminds me. On the Under Wraps tour at this same Nassau Colisseum, my friends and I were shocked at how many empty seats there were. Up to that time whenever Tull toured the NYC area arenas (MSG, Nassau,Continental) it was always sold out or close to it. But in Oct. 1984, it was about half full

Hey, Fatman...I can drag $h1t out, too! At least when I told my "Conversation w/ Ian" post, I got right to it. You're lame, boy! lol Tommie, I'm not intentionally dragging the story out. It is just too long to be told all at once, and it wouldn't be as funny if I did it that way. You'll see what I mean later. I told this story once before, word for word, six years ago on the old board, in the same serial way, but it was more spontaneous, it kind of just happened without me really planning it. I was lucky to have printed it out, in its entirety, just as the thread was being archived. Part of what made it so funny was the hilarious comments that those who were following the story made between each segment. (But the story even by itself is hysterical.) For those who are just joining in now, there have been two installments on this thread so far. Stay tuned for more. Jeff

How about a visual of her finger puppets? You can find them by clicking on 'party favors.' I would do it myself if I could. Jeff Sorry Jeff but I can't seem to find them. Funny though I was looking at some Parenting mag at my office today, thumbing through the back and who's ad did I happen upon but Marcia's.

Jeff, so far it has taken 8 days for you to tell us nothing. Have you actually got a story?

I'm fine with the way you're pacing it, Jeff. It's your story.
I like that others have some idea of the venue and also the performances that you're talking about.
At that time, I had not yet even begun to reacquaint myself with that band I'd heard of years earlier that had a mad flute player in it....
And TM found a current ad of her, still performing....that's kind of cool.....

Jeff, so far it has taken 8 days for you to tell us nothing. Have you actually got a story? That's absolutely untrue. The story has already begun. There have been two installments thus far, which if you scroll back, you will see. BTW, these are not the type of comments that were made the first time around, perhaps because it was more spontaneous, and so people actually LIKED hearing the story the way I was telling it, and rather than making hostile remarks, they made amusing ones. Jeff

I think this is the pic Jeff was speaking about. Now listen folks, just chill out and go with it. I think these puppets are pretty important! I don't remember Ian using any machine. But then again, my seats weren't that good. I do remember going to the show one night with a buddy who was taping it on a camcorder. The dude was so paranoid! His expression just read "Frisk me, I'm guilty!" ;D

As the story progresses, the segments do get longer, and I have to say that the whole thing unfolds quite nicely. Jeff

FatBoy, aren't I the most observanr m*******f****er in the world? That I remember Ian;s saying ..."Apologies,apologies".He couldn't just be a normal person and actually TALK to the crowd and say, like, "sorry so much that my voice was so bad tonite, I have the flu"...He's gotta do this over-acted, medieval bow and say :"Apologies, apologies"

I'm not being petulant at all, it's just that I could not possibly write the whole thing out all at once, and it's better told this way anyhow, as I think you may agree later on. Relax, the whole thing will be revealed. Also, why the hostility, jeez, I thought we were friends? Jeff

I might've been a little paranoid, too. ;D Interesting puppets.....to say the least.....
