www.parkrecords.com/tourdates.php Now, along with Fairport Convention, I would mark Steeleye Span to have been the ideal opening act for Tull throughout their entire history, moreso than once or twice every twenty years or so. I do know that much of Tull's American audience has long lacked the patience or even sophistication to absorb them, I have heard of booing when they have been paired in the distant past, also for Beefheart, they want freaking Aqualung man, with some Ozzy juice on the side. Anyway way to go Doncaster. People always use that phrase of I could die a happy man if, and for me it would be to see all three of these proud organizations get their long overdue invite to the R and R hall of fame simultaneously. Please don't remind me that Fairport and Steeleye are not really rock bands, they certainly would be no more of a stretch than many who have gained entry. And then to grab Jann Wenner by the shirt collar and say "Did we pass the audition ye bastard." I guess I have already used up that opportunity though, as I was seen to be carrying a placard on a below zero morning in Green Bay, Wisconsin in January 97 which read "I can die now" when the Packers returned our ancestral Vincent T Lombardi trophy (generically known as the Super Bowl trophy) to its ancestral seat in Titletown USA and was delighted to read mention of it in the Chicago paper the next day. A bit silly I suppose as I was only 40, but many years, 29, in the Packer wilderness.

Tull/Fairport/Steeleye Span/Richard Thompson...how about a 4 day festival in Cropredy...lots of guest appearances, Pegg and Allcock at the beer tanker when they aren't onstage and a special section...front and center...catered...for Tull board participants. Any Questions?
