Ian mentions in his latest news he is working in the studio as he has done for the last few years. But nothing ever comes out! It is an exciting time what with all the new artist control and means of release. Ian hasn't even dipped his toe yet. Where is the Anderson myspace page? Why not test the single download market with a new song? Let's say Ian put up 1 song for purchase on jethrotull.com for $1 a go. Well I'll guess a conservative 5000 people purchase, (am I too high?) that's $5000 in the kitty minus expenditures. We all know Ian is a tight sod when it comes to cash, I'm amazed he's not motivated by such opportunities. Come on Ian, you make dosh, we get new music. No brainer!!!

Come on , Mix...the parking lots for Tull gigs look like BMW/Volvo/SUV showrooms...let's raise the ante to 5 or even 10 bucks a song....let's throw in a few buck charity surcharge for good measure...and while we're at it...let's say folks who buy the new stuff get pre-sale front row seats to gigs...Tull used to be on the forefront of Rock and Roll Innovations...boxes custom developed for Tull equipment became industry standards...wireless technology was used very early in the game by Tull....why can't the Tull website/fanbase set the standards for technologically advanced music distribution and concert sellouts?

How about one or two live shows issued once a year to beat the bootleggers and the profits going to IA's favourite charity or am I being too optimistic.

Marillion have been issuing downloads of almost every concert of their latest tour. And they also release loads of other CDs and DVDs through their own record company, selling only to their fans via their website: www.marillion.com/home.htmI doubt they make much money from it all, but they keep their own costs down and their fans very happy indeed. If Marillion can do it there is absolutely no reason why Ian can't. Unless, of course, he doesn't want to

I think Marillion have their own record/cd label as well which probably makes it easier for them. Now if IA had his own label maybe we could get something similar ?

Yeah maybe Ian is still under contract with Fuel2000 or some other legal thing. He keeps hinting at doing songs rather than albums so one assumes it is not because he isn't interested.

Along the same lines as Marillion, the Zappa family has done an excellent job in recent years of releasing archive material, complete concerts among them. Granted, Frank is dead so the decisions come quicker, but I for one would love to see at least one start-to-finish live Tull release.
