hhhhmmmm... it's tough between those, for me. SFTW has pibroch, velvet green, hunting girl, cup of wonder, the whistler, which I love. but HH has Heavy horses!, one of the best j-tull songs ever... i don't know

Comparing SFTW and HH is as futile as comparing Brick and Passion Play.

Comparing SFTW and HH is as futile as comparing Brick and Passion Play. Jeff They do indeed fit very well together as Tull's 'folk rock' period in the same way that Brick and Passion Play get lumped together as Tull's prog rock era. Both lots do differ slightly for me in the sense that the first album in each case (Brick & SFTW) are quite upbeat and jolly with the second album in each case (PP & HH) being altogether more serious. I wonder if that was intentional?

Some of Tull's albums are seasonal - "It's the time of the season when the blood runs hot.." for - Songs from the Woods.

Songs From The Wood is probably my favourite Jethro Tull album, so I'm going to have to go with that. SFTW, Jack In The Green, Velvet Green, The Whistler, Hunting Girl, ah they're all great.
