It's there!! Jan 2009's message ...... ...."Having devoted most of 2008 to the dubious celebrations of the 40th Anniversary of Jethro Tull, I am, once again mercifully free of nostalgia, claghorn and the blue comfort blanket of the repertoire of our earliest years. ...Well, perhaps not entirely free, as some of the really old songs will stay in the set-list for a while to come, but it will be nice to broaden the repertoire again to include more recent and even brand new material in due course...."..."After such a busy year, the first few weeks of 2009 will be spent at home, refurbishing my recording studio and catching up on lots of personal things. New studio works will commence in the next weeks. Some music recorded in 2007 has to be finished and it would be nice if, after writing and performing new tunes for and with Anoushka, we could get together for long enough to record them. But, as AS is a busy gal, and currently busy with Dad playing Pandit Ravi’s new concerto for Sitar and Orchestra it might take a while for our diaries to coincide again..." www.j-tull.com/news/diaries/diaries/iaja2009.html

Yeah, go nonrabbit!!
Looks like we have lots of good stuff to look forward to, should be a great Tull year! No specific mention of a new Jethro Tull album but why refurbish your studio and get new toys to play with if you're not going to use them? Fingers crossed we'll have a new album thread this year!
Good news that a recording of St Brides is going to be released too. I wonder if that means the whole evening complete with readings or just the nights music? Either way it will be great to it on our Tull shelves. I hope the recordings with Anoushka Shankar come off too, I don't think the wobbly youtube clips we saw did much justice to the material they played so it would be nice to hear that as it is meant to sound.
On the subject of the website, we did all fairly have a little grumble about it being a bit lacking in news last year but both the St brides & the Barbican dates went up well before they went on sale so no more moaning from me!

Well that sounds almost .... good! The St Brides album I am looking forward to having read the excellent review. Whether a refurbished studio and the finishing of stuff recorded 2 years ago actually converts into a new studio album is something I'll not hold my breathe over ..... But then, I'm a cynical old s*d.
