Ian Anderson presents Christmas with Jethro Tull Exeter Cathedral, Exeter, EX1 1HS Tue 20th December 2022 We are delighted to be hosting Christmas with Jethro Tull at Exeter Cathedral on Tuesday, 20th December at 19:30. Ian Anderson and the band perform as 'Christmas with Jethro Tull' in cathedrals across the country each year, donating the ticket sales to each cathedral for the conservation of the building. This year the concert will feature a Christmas-themed repertoire as well as the work of Jethro Tull as written and recorded by Ian since 1968. When is the Concert? Tuesday, 20th December at 19:30 Doors open at 18:45 Ticket Information Tickets £45-£20, and £12 for students (south aisles only). Available from 01392 285983 (Monday to Friday) or online. I hope a 3rd Xmas show gets put on, Bath and Exeter as a bit too far for me. I bought a ticket for one of last years show but couldn't go.

The Tull website is listing Gloucester Cathedral on Dec 16th - tickets to go on sale at the end of August.
Ian is keeping it in the West Country this year..

his forthcoming Christmas concert at Bath Abbey  A deranged flamingo. That was one description l came across of a musician and composer
who was also once described as the best one-legged flute player in the world!
I am talking about Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson of course. With 60 million albums worldwide
to his credit and a long career that has included an MBE awarded for his services to music,
he's now bringing a group of talented musicians with him to do a fundraising
Christmas concert at Bath Abbey on December 12th. Through the wonders of Zoom,
l was able to ask him how unusual was it for him to perform in a church.

A selection of Jethro Tull Christmas winter-related repertoire with
a mix of classical music and re-worked Christmas carols.

The annual Jethro Tull/Ian Anderson Christmas Concert last night. This year it was at
the rather lovely Bath Abbey, which thanks to Bath’s thermal springs is probably the
warmest winter church I’ve ever been in. Very welcome during this cold snap we’re having.
As usual Marc Almond joined the band, but not as usual so did Stephen Mangan,
who seemed like a top chap, all smiles and relaxed chat with various audience members.
Also present was Ian’s son-in-law Andrew Lincoln,
who I’m here to tell you is a very dashing-looking man in real life.

cathedral last night. It was a fantastic performance, Ian was on good form and
I particularly enjoyed the guests. I would never have guessed the first one!
I won't post the name in case he (or she) is a guest at other cathedral gigs.
There is a photo of the second guest here, look away now if you don't want to know.
The heating in the cathedral was broken and it was cold, with a capital F.
Band did really well despite that, as did the choristers. Magical night!

this was Exeter 2022. His charitable donations of putting on these events and
contributions raised go towards projects such as 'new toilets' at the Cathedral.
