A while back I heard that Martin Barre was working on an acoustic solo album of Tull songs. I think I read that he was doing an acoustic version of Fly by Night...?
I haven't heard anything about this in some time. Does anyone know anything about this project? Is it still gonna happen?

Hi maddogfagin
Thanks for the welcome.
Duh! I looked into Martin's website about a week ago and didn't think to check the news page as the last time I had checked it had not been updated in a long time. I even sent him an email asking about the project. That'll learn me to pay more attention in future!
Looks like we are gonna hear some great new stuff from Mr Barre next year.
Cheers,
stormwatcher.

WOW! I was just checking out Martins site and the link on that page with pictures is from my little old hometown! cool! Hope he goes back there, I would love to see him in such an extremely small venue, plus I have free places to stay!

Any more news about this? When I first heard the rumour it was that Martin would record an all acoustic album of his own arrangements of lesser known Tull music. Now this would be something really special and I'm sure it would be a big success for Martin.
Then I heard it might be an album with a few Tull arrangements which wouldn't be so much fun in my opinion. For me, Martin is the unsung hero of Tull. I know he is respected as The Guitarist but Martin has had a lot of input to the arrangements and sound of the band that has gone uncredited to date. I think if he made an album by himself it will showcase just how important Martin is to Jethro Tull.
