Any thoughts? Add Ronnie James Dio. Remove any one of the 80's posers. 1. James Brown - Probably so. 2. Elvis Presley - A tie. 8. Jerry Lee Lewis - Most exciting and unpredictable. 11. Bruce Springsteen - It has been said, since the late 70's, "If Bruce Springsteen did not exist the media would have created him." My feelings are he was the greatest frontman before he became a caricature of himself. 19. Bono (U2) - Good God, NO. Most pretentious. Thinks Bruce Springsteen is God. 20. Roger Daltrey (The Who) - Most captivating. 22. Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) - Most imitative. 23. Ozzy Osbourne (Black Sabbath, Solo) - Most iconic during my time in high school. 24. David Lee Roth (Van Halen, Solo) - Hell, Yes. 27. IAN ANDERSON (JETHRO TULL) - Best sense of humor. 29. David Byrne (Talking Heads) - Certainly one of the most interesting and artistic. 30. Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) - More like 300th.

I'm with BSH on giving Bruce, Bono and Vedder the boot. I rate Jagger pretty high on principle. I like Prince, Daltry and Byrne a lot from the list and might add Eric Burdon and, god forgive me, Axl Rose. Of course, none of them are fit to wash, rinse or dry Ian's codpiece in my book......but I have come to acknowledge I am not objective.

Of course, none of them are fit to wash, rinse or dry Ian's codpiece in my book......but I have come to acknowledge I am not objective. I agree completely. Almost all of my concert going involved Jethro Tull, so most of my first-hand experience was watching the opening act. Through the magic of YouTube, I have been able to watch concerts from the 70`s to now. There are not many (or any) front men that keeps your attention like Ian could. Most concerts I watch, though the music is fantastic, is like looking at an album cover while listening, not much going on but the music. Roger Daltry swings a mean microphone Pete Townshend smashes a mean guitar Mick Jagger`s energy as he stalks around a stage Michael Jackson`s dance moves are as good if not better than his music But.... nobody, I mean nobody has the grace and style of Ian Anderson . My first concert was in `78. I was so excited to see Ian, Martin, Barrie, John, David and Tony Williams live. From the first strains of No Lullaby, Ian had my attention from the first note to the last, and it`s been that way ever since. Now, I have not seen a lot of those people on their list, but I can`t believe that there are 26 better front men in music... and only for his humor!!! By the way, I`m not objective either.
