Jack Frost and The Hooded Crow
Through long December nights we talk in words of rain or snow While you, through chattering teeth, reply and curse us as you go Why not spare a thought this day for those who have no flame To warm their bones at Christmas time? Say Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow
Now as the last broad oak leaf falls, we beg: consider this -- There's some who have no coin to save for turkey, wine or gifts No children's laughter round the fire, no family left to know So lend a warm and a helping hand -- Say Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow
As holly pricks and ivy clings, your fate is none too clear The Lord may find you wanting, let your good fortune disappear All homely comforts blown away and all that's left to show Is to share your joy at Christmas time With Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow
Through long December nights we talk in words of rain or snow While you, through chattering teeth, reply and curse us as you go Why not spare a thought this day for those who have no flame To warm their bones at Christmas time? Say Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow

2020 Could be a very good year for all involved...a new decade, a new Tull album, a new guy on guitar, who seems to know his way around a Tull song, Martin Barre and various bandmates touring all over the place and, hopefully a new leader in my country. If Ian indeed wraps up and releases the album he has been hinting at since 2015, we may have the first fresh music since the slightly neglected Opera quintet of songs and, more concretely, since the impressive Homo Erraticus. Bring on the new decade...bring on the new Tull. In 2030 Ian will only be 83 years young.....

And, he's goofy, half-nuts, the consummate performer and his heart is the size of Alaska. For generations to come, he will be more deeply appreciated for his vast intellect and talents, separated by a chasm from most contemporary musicians and song writers. We must celebrate him personally while we can, because The Tune Ends Too Soon For Us All

I hope to get back to regular posting now Welcome to the massed ranks of the Forum's pensioners colbefc. The distinct benefits are that you can play your music as loud as you want and, by doing so, annoy neighbours who will raise their eyes skywards and mutter under their breath "well it's his age you know".

Nothing like the past 10 or so posts on this thread to remind me why I think this is the best website on the whole worldwide web. A great decade is upon us...I promise.
