Just thinking back........this was the time TOTRRTYTD was out and they had them Tull-A -Vision screens. The only songs I think that were played from TOTRR were "Crazed Institution" and the title cut. I remember Ian, introducing "Crazed...", said something like: ".all these rock stars, with their chains and gowns and make-up.disgusting!...hear that, Elton? hear that, Rod?" Also, it was reminiscent of 1975 whem "Minstrel" was out, but Tull played practically nothing from it and still concentrated on "War Child" songs. lol

BTW, Shea Stadium was MUCH too huge to really enjoy the show. 70,000+ seats. Whew.

Same in Denver, a few weeks later, only the title cut and 'crazed' with the intro trashing Rod and Elton.....check the ministry site...I think they played a few more new songs at the start of the tour in Europe...quizz kid for sure and maybe big dipper or pied piper....years later they did 'deadbeat' on the light music tour.

The songs they played from Too Old To RNR for the first 1976 were: Quizz Kid Crazed Institution Taxi Grab Bad Eyed and Loveless Big Dipper Too Old To Rock'N'Roll; Too Young To Die The Chequered Flag (Dead or Alive) Of all of these, only "Too Old To Rock'n'Roll" and "Crazed Institution" survived post 1976 (though the latter very briefly being dropped after the first date of 1977). As the other songs... "Salamander" and "From a Dead Beat To An Old Greaser" premiered in the 90s, while "Pied Piper" has not been performed live yet (and I don't think it will, but, hey, never say never)
