Sort of a tactless observation from me, as many people have already been murdered, but I have to think this imperils the Tull shows with Shankar's daughter, and I do hope the band has not left home yet, although I kinda thought it had already started.

Bloody heck yes, Tull are meant to be in Kolkata tonight but given the seriousness of the situation I would not be surprised if these dates were cancelled. My sympathies to everyone caught up in this terrible event and I wish Ian and the Tull boys a safe journey home.

Don't think it's tactless at all, tullistray. Surely the lads won't be doing the Mumbai show Sat night - but there is no cancellation notice at the official site, and the ticket purchase link found there still offers up tickets for the 29th (though other shows in Mumbai promoted there have been cancelled). Anyone heard anything?

Anoushka Shankar released this statement last night regarding the Mumbai show, it looks like all the other dates are still on.
Jethro Tull-Anoushka Shankar Mumbai concert postponed/cancelled
Dear Friends,
It's truly with a heavy heart that I write to say tomorrow's concert has been cancelled, or hopefully just postponed about a week.
Today Jethro Tull's and my full band and crew sat and weighed the odds and decided to COME for tomorrow's show in support and solidarity, and also to turn the concert into a benefit for the victims of the atrocities in Mumbai. Five minutes after we made the decision, fresh attacks and blasts occurred in the city, and if nothing else, for the safety of people traveling with us, we had to decide to at least postpone the concert.
It angers me when terrorism "wins" in this way and something like music has to be stopped. It speaks volumes for the spirit of Mumbai that people had actually continued to buy tickets for the concert in the last two days, and we had hoped to be there in the same spirit, to honour the victims and send our best possible energies the best way we know-through music.
But all we can all do is send our thoughts and prayers up and hope all the madness ends.
As for the concert, I will keep you updated as to whether the concert will happen next week or is simply cancelled, due to logistics. Thank you for your support.
Warm wishes, Anoushka

Don't think this has been posted here already.....Plz delete if so... Jethro Tull unruffled by terror attacks The legendary music group Jethro Tull who are touring India are not intimidated by the Mumbai terror attacks and will continue their tour. Jethro Tull’s vocalist and flautist Ian Anderson is philosophical about terrorism. “The threat of terror lurks in every part of the world. Every time I take the Underground in London, it’s on my mind. So India doesn’t scare me more than any other place in the world,” says Anderson, who has decided to continue with his five-city 100 Pipers Pure Music concert tour, despite the terror attacks in Mumbai and performed to a packed audience of over 5,000 people at Delhi’s Hamsadhwani Amphitheatre on Sunday.....
