Yes Jim it's certainly a very good snippet from APP. I wonder if this is the only piece Martin's band are going to play in the future. Let's hope there's more to come

Here it is Bernie and I think it's brilliant even though it's cut before the end .
A passion Play Sorry folks, but that is not good IMHO..... A Passion Play is one of my favourite albums, but it needs to be sung by Ian, although I know his voice can not do it justice these days, but anyone else doing it is just a cover band, and in this case not even a very good one.... No offence guys, I'm a Tull fan through and through

I'm all for Martin featuring Tull songs and he has a perfect right to do so, but I think he has been badly advised into doing a whole set of IA's compositions and not featuring at least an equal amount of his own songs and instrumentals. I mean where is "Conundrum", a regular live feature in the seventies set list, for example ?

I certainly reckon that seeing the set list for the current Martin Barre concerts, a great opportunity has been missed in not featuring some of those songs and instrumentals that haven't featured much lately, if not at all.
Co writes with Ian Anderson and Peter Vettese: Nobody's Car Paparazzi
Solo Martin Barre compositions including: Morris Minus Bug Misere
Dee Palmer compositions (strange her Tull input hasn't featured in the set list): Coronach Elegy
And an opportunity missed I believe in not featuring Dee's Apocalypse - what a showstopper that could have been.

Of course MBB doing passion Play is like a community Orchestra doing Beethoven or Mozart...not exactly Vienna in 1885 but still nice for the material to get an airing...any airing. And martin ( and Dee) really should feature their strengths, not imitate Ian's 50 year setlist in so many places. Funny how they all fall into the same syndrome of trading recognizable material for audience response instead of going deep catalogue and interesting and fun for true Tull fans...when will they learn that the rent is being paid by true Tull fans....not casual baby boomers out for nostalgia? yeaqh, we can't help cheering for 'Nothing is Easy' ...but we want Seal Driver and Urban Apocalypse.

So then why cant MB play the songs he has a MASSIVE input on for 42 years Ian couldn't have done it on his own Dee Palmers input cant be underestimated unless you really are a fool

Whilst i agree whith u maddoggy, it woukd be nice to hear these tracks as they are quite good, one must understand this is a celebration of Martins J Tull 50years service So not trying to educate but:- In reality Martin Barre solo tracks or Dee palmer solo tracks dont come under that banner The same as Ian Anderson doesnt play Fly by night or Secret language of birds on his 50 years tour

I hear people get banned on here for going against the grain Tut tut how sad People get suspended/banned from the Forum if they are, for example, abusive to members here, use racist or homophobic language, use suspicious vpn ip addresses to disguise their identity or as a couple of numptys have done in the past, rejoined after being banned using different names but using their original email address. I suggest you read the Forum rules before posting anything else.

(Courtesy)Ben Crandell Contact Reporter South Florida Sun Sentinel April 30 2019 Martin Barre, the Grammy Award-winning guitarist responsible for some of the best-known solos in rock ’n’ roll history with Jethro Tull, will offer an acoustic take on the Tull catalog May 3 and May 5 at the Arts Garage in Delray Beach. There are certain pockets of the country where Barre’s wizardry is most appreciated, and South Florida is among the places where discerning audiences have made him a reliable sell-out. Tickets for the two Arts Garage shows cost $40-$75, with just a handful of seats still available. The concerts begin at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 3, and 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 5. For information, visit ArtsGarage.org. The prog-rock trailblazer recently released a solo album, “Roads Less Travelled” (Cleopatra Records), but concerts on his 2019 tour with the Martin Barre Band have been a celebration of music associated with Jethro Tull, whose sound he helped define for more than four decades. Recent sets have included hits such as “Aqualung,” “Cross-Eyed Mary,” “Thick as a Brick,” “Bungle in the Jungle” and “Locomotive Breath,” but also the less-heard “A Song for Jeffrey,” “Dharma for One” and “A New Day Yesterday.” Yet these shows — two 60-minute sets separated by a 15-minute intermission — will not be confused with a Jethro Tull concert, Barre says. “Occasionally I take time out from the commotion of live rock shows and present an evening of acoustic music and songs. Rather than being an ’unplugged’ version of the electric gig, we have put together … very special interpretations of music that is unique to the acoustic show,” he says in a statement about the tour. “The audience will become part of our night, in an intimate and friendly atmosphere, usually mixed with anecdotes, humor and the beautiful sound of three acoustic guitars weaving complex harmonies. This is, in every way, a very different gig, yet with the same dynamics.” For more information, visit MartinBarre.com.
