From WikipediaOn english wikipedia page of Jethro Tull is indicated that on September 2017, the band announced their reformation to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of This Was, and their plans to tour and release a new studio album in 2018. The line-up includes Anderson, Hammond, Opahle, O'Hara, and Goodier, all musicians of Anderson's solo band since 2012. Is this an official news or will it be the Ian Anderson Band plays the music of Jethro Tull and a new Ian Anderson's album?

I have no problemographs with the name "Jethro Tull" on a new album, and would expect that the band members after being together all this time, would be showing some creative spark and cohesion on such an album, though as usual it would be heavily influenced by Ian Anderson's lyrics and musical input, but hey, I DOUBT at this point that the band members are interested in sticking around with Ian any longer if they don't get to participate in creative measures on a new album they're playing on. Logic would say.............

Ian spent 40 years Saying 'I'm not Jethro' and 10 years since saying 'I am Jethro'. He deserves better ! John Deere (February 7, 1804 – May 17, 1886) LINK John Deere (February 7, 1804 – May 17, 1886) was an American blacksmith and manufacturer who founded Deere & Company, one of the largest and leading agricultural and construction equipment manufacturers in the world. Born in Rutland, Vermont, Deere moved to Illinois and invented the first commercially successful steel plow in 1837.
In America many people ask who Jethro Tull is... I always say he is like the original John Deere only earlier.

Strange that after all the years of IA saying that without Martin Barre it wouldn't be Jethro Tull, the Tull brand (for that's what it is) is now pushed to the fore on advertising and on some of the promotion. But, and playing DEVIL'S ADVOCATE here, could it be that IA has come to the conclusion that as there are now TWO Tull bands on the road that he should use the name again. I say this because when you logically assess the output of the MB Band, approximately 14 out of 22 songs performed, on any one night, are IA compositions or made famous by Tull. Ian's going to be on an extended "best of" tour through 2018 until the new album's finished in 2019 (his words) so there are going to be a great many Tull songs performed live on stage, on the radio worldwide and on TV screens across the globe so why not revert back to the JT name. And on that note, Sky's broadcast last week of the 2007 Classic Artists Tull release is probably only the beginning of the 2018 celebrations.

The concert in Denmark the 2 marts is according to the tickets and advertising a Jethro Tull concert... Ian can't escape the brand of Jethro Tull that he so carefully created through the years... But who decided to call the concert a Jethro Tull concert? Was It Ian himself, or was it the Dock? billetto.dk/e/jethro-tull-billetter-199114

So.... JETHRO TULL are back! And if this advert below is genuine and not the product of a "fertile" imagination, it's all go from both IA & MB for 2018

So.... JETHRO TULL are back! And if this advert below is genuine and not the product of a "fertile" imagination, it's all go from both IA & MB for 2018 Everytime I see the words "It isn't (ain't) JETHRO TULL" on Facebook... I have to wonder why? Of course the answer usually ends up being about Ian and Martin not getting along after 43 years. So What? There are more gigs to see and the music sounds better to me no matter what others believe. LET'S ROCK !!!
