Live365, the internet radio broadcasting network, have announced that they will be shutting down. After 16 years of providing a streaming network for over 5000 small broadcasters these broadcasters will now face their potential demise as their host network sees it’s end for the foreseeable future. The network featured a range of stations from small-time, amateur broadcasting personalities to music stars such as Johnny Cash, David Byrne, Pat Metheny, Jethro Tull, Frank Zappa and others. The service allowed anyone to create and broadcast their own digital station which they could broadcast live or pre-record for playlists of music and talk content. Live365 wrote a statement to their broadcasters in an email. It read as follows: We are sad that we are closing our doors at the end of this month. There are always possibilities that we can come back in one form or another, but at this point in time, January 31, 2016 is the last day that Live365’s streaming servers and website will be maintained and supported. routenote.com/blog/live365-announce-that-they-will-shut-down-on-january-31st/

Agreed. I dug that little app. Same here. I hope they find a usable substitute in the near future.
