Uploaded on 3 Nov 2011 by Bob Oldfield "A Remembrance Day slideshow using Mark Knopfler's wonderful "Remembrance Day" song from the album 'Get Lucky' (2009). The early part of the song conveys many British images, but I have added some very Canadian images also which fit with many of the lyrics. The theme and message is universal... 'we will remember them'."

As a wondering, as well as wandering Jew, I wonder how nazism happened....I just read a book written by a Turkish-German citizen who spent 5 years in Guantanemo Prison with no trial, no charges, constant torture, humiliation and isolation from family and legal help....so...there...that's how nazism happens...citizens like me who KNOW our government is nothing short of evil....standing by and doing NOTHING. This kid ( he was 19 when the misadventure began) was swept up in the post 9-11 frenzy because someone in his mosque may have known someone who knew someone who blew himself up in another city...But it turned out that the supposed 'suicide bomber/Taliban/Al Quaeda guy he knew was alive and well in Bremen. Horrific story....my tax dollars at work supporting an American Concentration Camp on Cuban soil.

Horrific story....my tax dollars at work supporting an American Concentration Camp on Cuban soil. I think it simply starts by one person bullying another then one group bullying another. That grows until a nation picks on a race or a religious sect and then it leads to internment camps, then it leads to death camps. This might be a bit heavy for my first post, but as a derivative of wandering Jews myself the thing that has deterred me from posting here in the past is a sense of bullying I read in a few of your members posts here over the last few months since I joined. I would have enjoyed entering the debate about Martin a few weeks back but given the level of attack by one of your posters I decided against it. That is how fascism / nazism or what ever you wish to call it starts. It thrives when good people turn away and let it happen. And the thin edge of the wedge is allowed to get established. Shouting down other fans for having a different view is a thin wedge that seems to be ignored.

Tull fans can, and do, get very worked up when they perceive an attack on the band or individual band member. It happens here and elsewhere on the web but in most cases it's not an evil intention, just an over reaction. Fortunately we have been able to rid ourselves here of the trolls and those people out to disrupt the smooth running of the Forum but members can always flag up and bring to the attention of the moderators any post or member who is either disregarding the rules or deliberately annoying other members and it will be acted upon, as it has been in the past. Having said that, feel free to join in with the discussions and have a good look around the place as there's a lot to see and I look forward to reading your posts about Tull. MD/Graham

Unfortunately this behavior, keeps a lot of good people out of these forums. There should be clear rules of engagement, and clear and swift punishment for those who repeatedly breaks them.

MD/GrahamThank you for the welcome Graham, I'm sorry it's taken a time for me to reply, I lost my laptop and log-in details, but thankfully both have been found again. Hopefully I will now be able to visit here and the other splendid Tull forums I have found. I'm a newcomer to IT so please bear with me, what with travelling all over the south east as part of my job makes connecting up while working difficult at times. One question, Frustratingly I have been trying to join the forum facebook page but seem to be having problems despite several messages to the administrator there, Remy Tena has been trying to help me but still no satisfaction. I haven't had such problems with other facebook groups, and so I was wondering if it is a problem for the forum if I wanted to belong to more than one Jethro Tull Fan group? If you have any advice it would be appreciated I can understand if you don't want to encourage or publicise that sort of thing. I also see from facebook that there is to be an American convention, are you involved in it and is there likely to be a British one in the near future?

I myself can't help you with the "facebook" question as I'm not on facebook myself. I'm sure your post here may alert a "facebook" person to help you out. There is certainly no problem about being a member of other Tull groups on the internet and in fact many members here do belong to other groups. As for the US Convention that is being organised by American fans and as such we are not involved with it apart from advertising it on our "facebook" page. As for a UK Convention; nothing is planned at the moment.

Equus, Sorry for the late reply but I have only just discovered the notifications of posts on my page. it took me a time to work out how to access them. It is indded a new frontier, but human contact and good behavour isn't. it's a pity that people don't just act as if this was a face to face environment. I understand that is difficult as my comments about one poster were mistaken by another member to refer to them. Luckily via facebbok we have resolved that and have established a friendship there. Tolerance and patience is all that is needed and I'm sure everyone would be able to get along, after all it is only about music. Thanks to Jim and Remy Tena for trying to sort out my facebook link to the forum but still no success. I have pretty much given up on that now, not even replies to my messages there, but it seems there are plenty of other groups there with good information and people to help out. if the admin of the facebook page reads this then pelase check the messages, I have left several.

Thank you for replying Richard Glass! This is a good place to be a Jethro Tull fan. Please post! Of course we are visited by "occasional demons"... but mostly we have a lot of fun. TooTull posted this video once, when we talked about somewhat the same thing, if my memory serves me right...
