Interesting details about H.E....some of the characters include: a train engineer in the industrial revolution, Queen Victoria's husband, a monk, a Christian student. But the real news: The venues in Germany for the dates in November are a clear, unambiguous, no-joke, consistent step up in capacity,....most of the places are in the 6 to 10 thousand seat range than than the 2 to 3 grand on the last few tours. Something on the Move in Tull land ?!!!!

And if the shows for Homo Erraticus are as well received as TAAB2 then I can see this tour reaching those parts of the planet that haven't had the pleasure of a Tull/IA show for many years. And, God forbid, if the reviews for HE are good then who knows what else may happen - Hall Of Fame or another Grammy anyone ?

Maybe that's why the price of tickets has gone up since I last saw them. £30 + booking fee at Bristol Colston Hall. Which is a shame because I can't afford to take the family as well, which I could do previously.

It's the booking fee that always seems to be excessive these days especially when booking a number of tickets and the booking fee applies to each ticket instead of the order as a whole.

I could understand a booking fee when buying though an agency, they have got to make a profit somewhere, but when you're buying direct from the venue it seems wrong.

I was always under the impression that if you bought direct from the venue you only got charged extra for the postage. Maybe I'm wrong and it's now an easy way to get the punter to pay out even more.

Something on the Move in Tull land ?!!!! H.E. has some auspicious indicators: 1) Ian Henderson has not had the blues while talking about the next album being more of a hard rocker, 2) It will probably be more of a 100% new production as compared to TAAB-2, which was assembled from diverse parts (we Tull watchers may suspect), and 3) the band members, if they stay the same and assist this next album, will no longer be rookie Tull creators and will have gelled as a force and that means probably more of some creative element, but while still a mystery until the day it's released, it's a development in chemistry for the good in any regard. 4) It's not called TAAB-3. 5) It's not called APP-2, 6) Audience participation with kazoos has not yet been ruled out.

I only found out about this today! (just finished semester's final exams) This is very interesting and very exciting! I love the name, a pretty wacked out concept--I am on board. My eyes are glued to the screen! I loved reading your guys' comments and opinions on it. I will have to finish reading the thread when I have more time. I wonder if Ian ever considered playing with the original seed-drill Jethro Tull, or to allude to it in some way, but I suppose that may not be received well given that he is touring and recording with the solo band. Really glad that we are getting more new material. Us Tull fans could just be mulling on about the same old, but we have stuff to talk about and look forward to! EDIT: Regarding the possible "Homo" controversy I think as long as it is in the context of a Latin-style name or phrase it won't be taken out of context too seriously. Of course there's always the sort of wallflower elephant in the room with that sort of thing--like when people incorrectly pronounce Aspergers as Ass-burgers--but I expect most people buying and/or listening to the album will be full grown adults--unlike me who will most likely take full advantage of the comedic capability of the title.

Well Said Kai. This will be a year of surprises and much excitement. The release of this album is a newer and more relevant style. For some it will create anxiety with the title, but true Tull Fans should be able to adjust, much as they did with Ian and his cod-piece while masturbating his flute. Gee, did that really happen in 1975?

In a recent interview Ian did say that Ryan has some vocal parts to record...so he's involved but not sure how much.

Funny but not funny...in Budapest, in 1988. it was not uncommon to see people in bars and discos wearing a button that said 'I have not AIDS'.......even thick skinned me was a bit offended....I'm sure attitudes have evolved quite a bit since those dark ages.

m.miusyk.com/ian-anderson-editara-homo-erraticus-abril-2014.htmlBy David López Google Translator: The legendary leader of Jethro Tull has confirmed release his new album, Homo erraticus in April 2014. Currently Lead disco style and his plans for the monumental two-year tour that is already designed. The return of a rock legend deserves this news. Finished your glorious tour Thick as a brick and TAAB2 , we were lucky to see twice, it's time to start rehearsing and recording the new album . It will be tomorrow when the band was put in place to try to capture all that Ian has in mind . The album, though its title does not say, it is the end of a trilogy written by former child prodigy Gerald Bostock , who " compose " Thick as a brick in the 72, forty years later did the same with the second part and now do the same being the lyricist of this album. That alter ego of Anderson allows you to tell a more interesting story. "The album is about the dreams of Ernest T Parritt but checked by Bostock , middle-aged man . Gerald attended the Mathew Bunter 's Old Library Bookshop Linwell village and found a dusty manuscript, signed by Parrit (1873 -1928) , which called Homo Erraticus . " "The text gives us the keys to the beginning of our civilization and even suggests some future scenarios. Parrit had an accident in which he fell from his horse and waking thought he had lived several lives as a Christian monk , a Saxon invader or the husband of Queen Victoria. All this becomes a prophecy of what may come in the future. " Musically the album is " almost progressive metal" and began to be written " at 9 am on January 1, 2013 ." The tour will pass through Spain , almost certainly , between June and July. The show is divided into two parts . First, this new album will be played in its entirety and then there will be a set with " The best of Jethro Tull ." Little more can be asked to the genius of geniuses. ........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ Good news for Tull spanish fans, we will have Homo Erraticus in Spain this 2014Add: Tullianos we have been in contact with Anderson and has confirmed us, that in your agenda has four concerts with these dates for Spain (from 9 to 12 July) and Poland (July 5).Anderson has put us in touch with his promoter for Spain, Robert Mills and we confirmed these dates, it remains to decide locations and specific related dates, this will be decided this January. LIFE IS A LONG SONG: As WarChild was a magnificent transition away from the rather awkward situation after Passion Play, I suspect Homo Erraticus may be a transitional success too, though the two band/album situation are very different. A transitional time never the less. Agree? Thoughts? It just occurred to me for the very very first time that Tullish activities may have dealt with transitional times. TAAB-2 did too.

Go ahead...tell me the 'Homo' Tour is not coming to San Francisco.....I dare you ! Caution: The Russian authorities have banned this album from the Winter Olympics in Sochi 2014. When the t-shirts are available this will be the one to have 2 of. 1 to wear ...1 to frame for the Tull Cave. Agree... sort of. At this point in the history of Tull, we all want change for the best. I am overjoyed with what has happened since 1973. The variety of music and ideas that are not always linked, makes this year very special. If the Gerald Bostock alter-ego is allowed to exist then Ian Anderson continues his own version of a 'ghost writer'. Maybe if it doesn't work out he can always blame Gerald for something.
Regardless the songs that may emerge, it will be a real transition for more of the exciting guitar riffs and imagery from the land of Prog. I don't see this as a 3-quel yet but who knows? The title alone is a risky move based on Human(Homo)phobias.
Homo is the genus of great apes that includes modern humans and species closely related to them. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homo
