And the time was in pre internet, mp3 and CDr days that these 'umble cassettes were one of the very few ways that fans would be able to share concert tapes and copies of promo goodies with each other.
I just wonder sometimes how much live music is still out there, both Tull and other bands, housed on cassettes that have never seen the light of day and have been relegated to a box under the stairs or, worse still, been disposed of via the trash can.
The same can be said, I suppose, about the trusty mini disc now that Sony and others have ceased making MD players and recorders although for those of us who still support the format will still be able to buy the recordable discs for some time before they finally go the same way as Betamax and VHS tapes.

I have a box full of them somewhere - including that Rocks on the Road single (above), an 'official' (ie not bootleg) live release from the Under Wraps tour that I don't think has ever been released on CD, and the 20th Anniversary 5 album box set .....

I'm working my way through my cases of cassettes but so far everything is out there on the internet or CD. I'm just hoping something will turn up but . . . I live in hope

Image sent to me a few years back by Mark Collins. If memory serves me well, it's Australian.

Cassettes make me sad..somehow remind me of true love breakups when someone got the jointly purchased LP and someone else had to tape 'must have' songs before the locks got changed.

In the 80's I recorded almost every concert I attended. Included in that was the (I'm giggling even before I write it) Under Wraps concert at the Philadelphia Spectrum. The cassette tapes are in some box somewhere in my basement. Let's see if I can recall some of the shows I recorded....
1. Stones - Still Life tour 1981 - JFK Stadium, Philadelphia (Opening Acts: George Thorogood, Journey) 2. Neil Young - Ragged Glory tour - Philadelphia Civic Center in 1990 (Opening Acts: Social Distortion, Sonic Youth) 3. Black Crows - Summer 1990, Chestnut Cabaret, Philadelphia 4. Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul - Nov. 1897, Chestnut Cabaret 5. Stevie Ray Vaughan - Pennsylvania 1990 6. Roy Orbison - Great Adventure, Jackson, NJ (late 80's maybe 1988) 7. Warren Zeveon - Summer 1994 Stone Pony 8. Ringo's All-Star Band (Dr. John, Nils Lofgren, Joe Walsh, Clarence Clemsons, etc.) Bally's Grand Casino, A.C., NJ summer 1989
Wow! I had not thought of these in a long time. I have tapes in my basement. But, I'm way too tired to ever dig them out. Bunch more down there, too. Some day, my daughter will see them and just put them out in the trash.

From Spain, I believe the only European country to release a vol.3 on both vinyl and cassette.

Stormwatch was the first Tull release I bought on cassette....until then, despite transient nature of college years and summer jobs, I managed to have a record player in my room....'A' was released during a VERY transient period when i bought the LP so I could listen to it at a friend's home and by Broadsword I had become stable enough to return LP purchase mode and self directed music. Roots to Branches was the first CD I bought...same day as first CD player. I think Catfish and Living With the Past may have been primarily consumed by cassette. Foggy years.

Allegedly, these counterfeit cassettes with the distinctive square and circular boxes logo and IMD catalogue prefix originate from either The Philippines or Indonesia.
