Royal Albert Hall concert, 30 June.Old Webby has been in contact and has suggested that a good venue for a pre concert drink would be the Queen's Arms, 30 Queens Gate Mews, SW7 5QL. I suggest that a good time to begin to congregate there would be around 4pm. The Queen's Arms is just around the corner from The Royal Albert Hall and I've posted a map showing where the pub is located together with an image of the place. The nearest London underground station is South Kensington on the District, Circle and Piccadily lines. All welcome.

Tickets are still available for this......... But I've been checking regularly to see when any of the box things came up... ...and they never did..... If I was going I would have loved to have a seat in one of those boxes.......... So how could someone book a seat for those boxes..... Can't make it sadly, will be on a Greek island........

Normally, I would not think that time on a Greek island would be a sad thing (although I having never been to a Greek island). However, if I could have a wish for 30 June 2013, between a Greek island and the RAH concert in London, I would go for RAH. Followed by a Greek island. After all it is a wish!

Do you get a second round of bricks this summer ? I'm on the the coast in southern NC and the nearest concert is in VA just outside of DC on July 16. That's about a 6 hour drive from here. Not out of the question, but I wish they were coming a little closer. There I go wishing again.

I believe most of the boxes are paid for on a yearly subscription, so not many come up. But when I booked I'm sure some were available. Or you just have to be rich

What's that? The ghost of John lennon advising the box denizens to shake their jewelry ? Was it a millionaire who said 'Imagine no possessions?'

If I wanted to go to this special gig, I would have been quite happy to pay £100 per seat for one of the boxes.

Thanks for that ash...... Very interesting........it would be great to live in London and have such a thing, and just under £500 a year doen't sound that bad, it does say that tickets can be sold back as such.... I quote from the article For those events for which seatholders do not wish to use their tickets, the Hall operates a successful and popular Ticket Return Scheme, which enables seatholder tickets to be sold to the public and for which the seatholder receives a share in the proceeds of the Members tickets that have been returned.

500 pounds a year...much or all of which you get get back vending gigs you don't want...but what's the ante to get in the club? Or do you have to inherit that or something.

Thanks for that link ash.......... Wow, that's crazy money to own one of those boxes... Pity.......... Would be cool to win the lottery and have so much money that you could buy one of the boxes, and treat someone to an exclusive seat at every gig........... Apart from Ian, Mark Knopfler is....or has...recently played there, doing his Privateering tour......a good album by the way.... Oh well...........

Privateering is not only good...it's great...saw Knofler open for Dylan last summer and he stole the show. Anyone opening for Bob would've been good though....... I agree on Mr Knopfler, he is superb..... Dylan, I have seen live, and was the worst gig I have seen..... and he has not got any better since....... He needs to knock it on the head IMHO.......

Not a Bob fan either? ;D ;D Not like some o' these wee lassies circa mid 60's when he appeared at the Odeon, Glasgow where apparently he was booed. Bob..."I want all the names of those who booed me last night?" Wee lassies..."We didnae boo you - be back soon" Bob.."Cheerio" ;D

Bob's written some fantastic songs, and made some fabulous music over the years. I have lots of his albums, he's a legend.... but............ Saw him live in Glasgow SECC can't remember when, must've been the 1990's.... It was crap.......... He only had a stripped down band, of bass, drums and guitar, he never spoke a bloody word the whole gig, and the songs were so distorted it was hard to recognise them..... He came across as an arrogant twat...... Something like myself.......
