While I've got five minutes to spare, here's another. Don't think we'll be around for a Spaghetti Bolognese at any time John - we'll get a take-a-way from "The Star Of India" if that's OK with you.

Damn. Wanted to know more about Yvette Oldemeyer but a right googling of her netted no returns. Is that a little Satan statue on the ledge on the right? And that music for happy occasions next up the line is so good its....awful, truly horrible. So much worse than whatever the next ogmiminon Iron Maiden album cover might be, that is the stuff that truly puts a smile on Satan's face, all that heavy metal bs, a mere trifle to be swatted aside.

Disturbing in the absolute how much that guy looks like Ian on Julie's sixteenth birthday.

Well Ray I can put your mind at rest from at least one of life's perplexing questions ...it is a spoof album cover! There is no such artist as Yvette Oldemeyer It was taken from a cover of Popular Electronics Magazine 1957 and the actual cover is funnier than the spoof!

Those are a bit disturbing even for me especially The hair that looks like a Hornets nest and Chuck looks like he's been doing something wrong behind that tree before he had his photo taken. Here's Ronnie doing his bit fighting the drugs war.

This is the greatest thread. Brings back memories and migraines.
Some of those artists are so small-time, but huge hearts trying to create some music, it's precious no matter how quirky it looks (Benny and Nola). Then there are the crime suspects (John Bult) in polyester smiles, and archival cosmic jewels like Yvette Oldemeyer (who needs a fretboard when you can name albums like that?). I have it on no authority whatsoever, that listening to the Wheelers (featuring Randy), is guaranteed to make you lose 3 pounds daily from the convulsive laughter.

I have it on no authority whatsoever, that listening to the Wheelers (featuring Randy), is guaranteed to make you lose 3 pounds daily from the convulsive laughter. Not a strange cover by any means but one of those albums sold only at gigs and in small amounts that today fetch high(ish) amounts on ebay. Sweet William's Ghost by George Deacon and Marion Ross which somehow illustrates the sentiments mentioned by futureshock above. I bought my copy at the time (1972) at one of their concerts and to my knowledge has never been transferred (legally) to CD. Very rare 1972 folk album, George Deacon's principal interest has always been the traditional songs of England. He recorded with Transatlantic Records releasing "Sweet William's Ghost" on XTRA 1130. 11 traditional songs inc. versions of "The Three Ravens" & "The Bitter Withy", feat. unusual harmonimum arrangements. One track of which, "The Devonshire Farmer's Daughter", has recently been reissued on the double CD "The Best of English Folk" (ESDCD770). Copies of Sweet Willam's Ghost are much sought after and command high prices.
George Deacon: Recorded by me as the title track to an album of songs (XTRA1130) This was one of many ballads found on broadsheets purchased by Percy from the Dicey family in London. They were important publishers of broadside ballads.Review from time-has-told-me.blogspot.co.uk/Image from ebay
