Met Ian Burgess at Cropredy '98...a great guy...friendly, knowledgable and almost as big a Tull fan as a Fairport devotee. Also met a guy who wrote some books...Pat Humphries? Not to mention drinks with Maart and Peggy at the Theakston truck ...what a great weekend that was...perfect weather...oh wait...it wasn't perfect...The Saw Doctors played.

Did anyone see the Fairport programme on Sky Arts last night? I did and I thought it could have went on for longer.

Did anyone see the Fairport programme on Sky Arts last night? I did and I thought it could have went on for longer. I saw the the show very late on BBC4, and very good it was too. There were 3 programmes: History of Fairport, a documentary about Richard Thompson and a recent Fairport show from the Union Chapel in London. They were shown very late at night, (midnight onwards or thereabouts), but well worth staying up for. Check this out...... www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01mmw5v/Fairport_Convention_Who_Knows_Where_the_Time_Goes/PS. I was in Sainsburys on Saturday and idly looking through a rack of CDs' containing the usual hip-hop/disco/house/garage rubbish, when the old heart skipped a beat. They had a sort of best of Fairport, best of Stevie Ray Vaughan, best of the Who and best of Van Halen, all for £3 each - couldn't get my wallet opened fast enough. The opening track on the Fairport CD - Come All Ye - is worth the £12 I spent just for that one track alone, cheers all.
