We are chuffed nay delighted to have been officially recognised and thanked on the recently issued Aqualung 40th Collectors Edition.
It's an honour to be associated with such a great project and to be recognised by the band - for us a labour of love. I have sent a letter off to EMI on behalf of the Forum and it's members;
Dear EMI
The Jethro Tull Forum, it's administrator, moderators and members would like to thank EMI in accrediting us on the recently released Aqualung 40th Anniversary Collectors Edition.
Jethro Tull fans and the curious are indebted to EMI for this huge undertaking and we would like to offer our appreciation and gratitude to everyone who contributed to the project.
We were privileged to be asked to play a small part in adding to the commemorative book which accompanied the set and the task was undertaken with pleasure.
We wish every success to this addition to the bands repertoire and look forward to assisting, in any way, with research for any future releases.

Hi Nonrabbit. I'm very glad about this official Recognition, and also hoping in future releases as soon as possible, of course. I remember the pleasant surprise when we saw the unexpected " Christmas Album" Like every year I change my avatar with the beautiful picture of the " Christmas Album " cover, since we are approaching the festivities. Very originals and esplicative of the content. Thanks for your interest. Yes, we think that my daughter likes very much to stay in her new school. Always very very busy in such important university of course. For this months my wife and i have decided to spent every week end there to visit, and her brother too. It easyer for him, as he has a job in London. A family reunion abroad !! Very funny. M.

Well done to the Forum, I know a lot of work went into finding all the stuff - and what a superb collectors edition it is. Finally got to open it on my birthday last week & it was well worth the wait. The remixes are superb, as is the book - I've even transferred the heavyweight vinyl onto my computer & thence onto CD, just for comparison (I know there are some who reckon a good quality vinyl sounds better than CD - now there's an idea for a new thread...). And guess what? It's almost inditiguishable from the CD but not quite - if you listen carefully you can hear the tell-tale noise of needle on record, also the volume is not quite as pronounced. Interesting experiment though...

Big congrats to the forum for the official recognition. Well done Graham, Patti, Bernie and John! It's a great piece of work so far - the Collectors Corner & Memorabilia thread in particular is a superb archive. I'm happy to have contributed in a small way with a few Radio Times clippings I posted about a year ago. Brian.

Thanks Brian it was a labour of love as well you might know I gave up the fags about fifteen years ago and I'll have to admit it was fairly easy in fact a hell of a lot easier than giving up on carbs and sweets - which increased at the same time - look out for that! The only advice I can give is distraction distraction distraction and not necessarily the pub - that's a danger zone for the fag quitter All the Best - you'll do it ;D Patti

Cheers Graham I do have a few other pieces - newspaper clippings and stuff. I have a photo taken with my mobile of the promotional poster for the show at the TF, Castlebar, Co Mayo, Ireland earlier this year. I'll try and locate and upload that later. I'll see what else I have next time I'm up in the nightmare attic.

Awesome....The Jethro Tull Forum is Official. I don't get it. Does this mean the "Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson" now includes Martin Barre and Doanne Perry? And when was Bruce Dickensen knighted? Rating a "Sir". Mark

Mark The poster with Martin and Doane was produced last summer for a show in Arendal, Norway. It is just a collector's item for anyone who got one. When Bruce Dickinson sang with Ian and Justin Hayward for Canterbury Cathedral in December 2011, I felt it was a royal tribute to Sir Bruce for being so cool. My limited royal bloodlines date back to Holland and France before I was born in 1957. ;D My knighthood of Bruce reflects the same towards Sir Ian, Sir Martin, Sir Jeffrey and all members of Tull.

Well as far as all that Sir or Dame stuff goes you can have it. I am more of the mindset of Keith Richards who offered to slit Mick's throat if he pursued such a thing. To me they are these guys mostly from Blackpool. If the Iron Maiden dude got a royal nod, you can imagine how happy I am for him. Well and truly I would need to look no further than any of their album covers to access their value, to some extent also true of Yes, (Roger Dean, ever so dreamy, yes I know he did a Tull lne) ELP and Black Sabbath. Iron Maiden's covers are something I would expect to see on a child's collection of monster cards with gum. He may be a brilliant man, his music sucks, and not a little and is an awful signpost, and a very potent one. I would like to think and am confident in saying Ian had nothing to do with his being aligned with that guy, Greg Lake, or the other milk white steed dude, the Moody Blues guy. Golly are they dreamy. As to Martin, while defending Ian's decision last year, one of the more endearing and telling traits of him is his correct assessment that just out of respect, not just to Martin, but to my mind the other people who have been in the band as Martin speaks nearly to its length and breath, there can NEVER be a Tull without Martin, and if its ride is over, my God it was a long and fruitful one.

And just to clarify, really for myself I have zero problem with the notion of being knighted, I do have a problem with the likes of Elton John, I will presume the Iron Maiden guy was not knighted but given some lesser deal, and even Paul and Mick being given those things, even though I understand the aspect of having created a signifigant economy, still not the stuff of being knighted by my estimation. Additionally I have no problem with such British royalty as I am aware of, maintaining an affection for the Queen, her Mother, Charles, and the children of Diane. They all seem ok to noble to me, there again, if I sat next to Bush jr at a baseball game without knowing who he was I am certain I would like him.
