All the samples of the unreleased tracks sound pretty interesting. The original album sounds really great too, much more dynamic with more presence. I think it might have got what it has always needed in terms of remastering

Also I think on some tracks I can hear things that weren't actually audible before, for instance on Cheap Day return there's some kind of wind instrument or keyboard playing very quietly in the background, that I've never noticed before

A quick run through of about the first seven tracks absolutely shows, of course in a subtle way, unquestioned higher definition and sound field, imaging, presence. A job well done, as expected. Very comparable to what I have heard of the remastered Beatles catalogue, with doubtless slightly higher difference from track to track. Certainly has moved Aqualung into a spotlight for me that it has not known in...a very long time.

10-31 will be a busy day: go to school with kid, hover around a bunch of first graders for their halloween parade, get dog into costume for loacl dog costume contest, take kid to haunetd house, take kid trick or treating, supervise kid answering our door for the late shift trick or treaters ( against all odds, last year she figured out it was as fun to give sugar bombs as to get them)...but, somewhere in ther, I'm gonna make time to buy the Aqualung re-release...I just hope the 2 CD version has the liner notes and full booklet....I truly can't afford the triple digit one.

Yeah, looking forward to 31st Oct. too. That's for the release of Aqualung and NOT 'trick or treat' which is one of the worst imports from over the pond IMHO.

Well can I say, inbetween the tears of pity that if I win the lottery tonight I will buy it for you - all of it and deliver it personally to you door but not in fancy dress.

I've pre-ordered stuff in the past from amazon that has arrived a day earlier than the release date. But with the 31st being a Monday it's hard to be sure you'll get it on the day - but generally they are on time (unless you go free delivery!) I reckon it'll be closer to £100 in HMV though

Don't remind me as I'm trying to forget the same number which pounced on me five months previously. Apart from anything else I'm not responsible enough to be in my fifties

love this album, brushing aside the technical details about the remastering/remixing, it sounds just great! at present cd 2 is geting more attention from me, the early versions sound so fresh and different from the original release, i really like my god and wind up. they're stripped bare and not overproduced, and although are works in progress, are a joy to listen to. IA has in the past replied to fans whines for a new album by saying 'all they want is a new old album'. well in part thats what we've got, and i for one am not complaining!!!!

For me the full version of Wond'ring Aloud Again in CD2 is one of the best things Tull ever did.
No wonder Glenn Cornick described it as some of his best ever bass playing

Downloaded the MP3 album this morning and I also think it sounds just great. There just seems to be a lot more detail to everything - you can hear new instruments and sounds in the songs and even an old yell or two from IA. It felt a bit strange to listen to it as after 40 years you kind of become used to an album - this is something improved and slightly different though. i would certainly recommend it and this is coming from someone who was not sure that I wanted to buy the album yet again. I have bought the 33 1/3 record, tapes, cd's & live cd over the years and i was not sure I wanted yet another copy. I have found one issue with the mP3 version though - at the end of Locomotive Breath, there was some horrible electrically type of distortion. I would be interested to know whether this is a common problem or maybe some issue I had when I downloaded the track.

I've listened to the 5.1 mix on the Blu ray and it's about as close as you're going to get to having the band in your room imho.[i've also listened to both cds and they're also good]

I'm buying the 2 CD package tomorrow after work.....20% on principle, 60% what people are saying in this thread and elsewhere on the forum and 20% in hopes sales of this offering justify similar archeology for TAAB, APP and beyond....but I do wish new stuff was also coming out.
