He was, to say the least, a bit eccentric in his old age and showed the signs of feline dementia. Much missed, as with all the pets we've had over the years.

Sorry to hear of your friend passing, Graham. Really feel for ya. Pets mean so very much to pet-lovers. Our 14 year old dog, Meg, passed 18 months back and we still can't get used to the 'stillness' in the house - sadder still, cant yet face finding a 'replacement'. I hope you do better than us, mate. All the best.

Hi Graham. I love pets, too and I am very sorry for you about your loss. We used to have 4 dogs : two of them aged 17, another one, 18 ( Chea). Very old, of course, but they left us one by one in 40 days, last autumn !! Very hard moments for me and my family. We know very well that that moments has to come, but in so very few days it has been so painful. They are resting in our garden now. We have only one dog, that my daughter wanted to bring with her in U.K , so i will replace with some other dogs very soon. M.

Our late moggies rest in various gardens which we've been associated with over the years and each one has a rose planted near them. It is cetainly a sad day when a loved pet passes on.

Hi..It is very sad for me to say that our four legs mates are diminished of number, because Orange, this was it's name, our 17 years old red Turkish cat left us last friday. Very sad for because we were'nt at home that day. All the other animals we have are younger, so I hope we won't have any further mournings for some time, I hope. M.

Patti Thanks very much Patti and to Graham, too. It is really a pity because together with one of the dog that left last autumn, Orange was my wife's favourite pet we had...that's life. Our Turkish cat was red color, nearly like an orange, with a white tail, long long fur, very big, much bigger than our current dog, a white Maltese, and also a very wild and independent. He used to stay away for days, before to come back. This is the sad thing for us, he choosed to end it's life at home but we were not there. Now we have one dog, the Maltese and one Siamese female cat. In short time we will replace with another dog and one cat at least. We also have three horses. Two are female which have had three yearlings.

Ian Anderson - A Raft Of Penguins 8,315 views Feb 26, 2009
Aqualung71 3.88K subscribers Another track off of Ian Anderson's [latest] solo album Rupi's Dance.
Lyrics - A raft of penguins on a frozen sea. Expectant faces look down on me. Shuffle uneasy. The whistler plays. Counting eleven, they begin to pray.
Tenuous but clinging, the missing link Joins us, closer than we might think. Some half remembered coarse jungle drum A naked heart-beat, trill and hum.
This worlds no stage for the faint at heart. Each symphony, a sum of parts. Each overture, a sweet foreplay. Lets crash and burn some other day.
Bonded in terror or suspicion deep Tentative tiptoe or giant leap Call down the angels to guide them in A raft of penguins take to the wing.
Ian Anderson Vocals, flute, piccolo, wooden flute, acoustic guitars Leslie Mandoki Drums, and percussion Laszlo Bencker Keyboards The Sturcz String Quartet

This has become my favourite IA solo album - although I can't watch the video to Old Black Cat as we lost ours (Virago) on Boxing Day 2 years ago. Kudos to Ian to making my cry Every. Single. Time. (The only other song that does that is Pibroch)
Losing a pet is always so hard. Writing a song immediately afterwards? Wow.
Anyway, I discovered this album after hearing Eurology - which has become a firm favourite, and this album is one of my go to background soundtracks while I'm working and has grown on me more than Birds

Eurology is one of Ian’s finest. I believe it was the opener for a Tull concert years back. That’s how good it is.

'Lost in Crowds' one of Ian's best songs ever.

'Lost in Crowds' one of Ian's best songs ever. I've just listened to this in isolation, rather than as part of the full album, and it is a mini-masterpiece, isn't it? I've probably been listening to the album too much as background music, but if you stop and really concentrate on each song on this album, I can't find a fault with any of them - they each tell their own short story to perfection. The thing is, I can't think of a BAD Tull/IA song. There are those that I prefer and play more than others, but a bad one? I'd give it more thought but I'm too busy enjoying the hundreds of good/excellent/brilliant/perfect ones
