It's been 65 years since the end of the nazi regime...so let 'em have one quick chorus...Deutschland, Deutschland uber alles.......it is nice to see a unified team beat a bunch of arrogant big mouths...and screw the Brazilians, too.....looks like an all Europa final unless Uruguay gets a visit from some fairy godmothers...

Seriously, I can tell the game is being played well at points, like that German dude who passed Pele in World Cup goals, looked pretty deft with his dribbling or whatever that stuff u do with your feet is called, but still I'll take Stan Mikita's stickwork 45 years ago in hockey, I just don't want to devote more time to yet another sport after the usual American spread of baseball, football, basketball and hockey, thats enough, though that skateboard, skating and wild skiing in the olympics is usually good.

I only ever watch football world cups I was hooked way back by the 1974 one with names like Beckenbaur, Bremner, Law and the magnificent Cruyff and the fact that a great Scottish football team actually got through ;D ;D ;D ;D I didn't see that much style/passion apart from the African teams in this world cup and given that Germany produced those goals - I'll settle for that and yes, I too have German blood in the old US papa bloodline Love the music and enthusiasm from S Africa too.

Oh yeah...it's all 'happy, happy' when your second league perrenial ( St Pauli-bundesliga) knocks themselves out for a year and claws into the ring with the big boys....only to get their asses kicked on a weekly basis....i think it was more fun watching them try qualify for the bundesliga then spend a season watching them fight re-relegation.

What A Strike, Eh? Canada’s Goalie Scores Miraculous Last Minute Goal… From Midfieldvideo: www.sportsgrid.com/soccer/an-unlikely-stroike-canadas-goalie-scores-miraculous-last-second-goal-from-midfield/In 24 years of FIFA World Cup competition, Canada’s Under-17 national soccer team has never won a match. They hadn’t even played to a draw during a 13-match streak in which they’d been outscored 45-3. That changed last night in Pachuca, Mexico, when backup Canadian goalkeeper Quillan Roberts scored a miraculous equalizing goal with three minutes remaining in the match to earn a 2-2 draw against soccer superpower England. so freeze those goalposts

Wow, no soccer fans in the Tull fan group? I thought aerobics was in with the Tullies! Premier League? Champions? Other leagues? Various tournaments? Columbia? Who's your team? Palace and, these days, Plymouth Argyle together with Surrey County Cricket Club for the noble game (5 day version). I've always liked American baseball and the San Francisco Giants have been my team in that respect.
