Hi there, I don't post very often but I wondered what your thoughts were on my cover version of Cold Wind to Valhalla, I play a lot of Tull covers being a huge fan and with Ian Anderson being an inspiration on my own songs. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dK2w44Ax8sMI thought with you all being Tull fans that it would be great for your thoughts on this really tough number. I found it very difficult to do, it is in a different tuning as well. Thanks for your time!

Feel free to post any more of your videos here at the Forum.

As Tull songs go this is one of the most inspiring and I'm doing something with this very song myself just now - not musically ! I enjoyed this moths and I particularly liked the haunting/echo..ie sound from the flute and the plucky sound at 2.16. The vocals are good too and the holding the note aka Anderson style *thumbs up* A very worthy attempt at what Maddog says is a particularly tricky little blighter of a song oh and I like the pic - I prefer just one image rather than loads of flashing ones as long as it's a good image for the song

Thanks guys, very kind of you to say. I am planning on doing a few more at some point, but I wanted to get the tricky one out the way first ha ha! You really start to appreciate what he wrote when you try and learn to play it. He is a genius on the trusty acoustic. The Tuning was in DADGAD on Capo 4 which I think is what he did himself. It's a real shame he doesn't do more of these. In fact the nearest thing he did to his earlier stuff was the song Circular Breathing off the SLOB album which for me is a Tull album in its own right. Thanks for listening, really appreciate it! :}>

A fine effort - well done.
It's just incredible that once one moves onto you tube and listens/watches something (like I did with this yesterday) that you spot yet another in the 'suggestion' listings off to the right - and one moves on there - and on to another after that... and so on... Before you know where you are, a couple of hours have gone by - and whilst you logged on to this particular forum, you end up diverted until all the time you had to spare (and sometimes 'not' really to spare) had just evapourated! Aint music great!

I've just had time to listen to this and I must say well done, you've come up with an excellent cover of this " tough number". Please keep posting more of your Tull covers. Cheers & thanks. bunkerfan
