Apparently have been seized by Homeland Security, truly a shame, because, to my knowledge, they host no illegal music, going to pains to make sure those artists who do not want their live shows passed around, Allman Brothers, Hot Tuna and King Crimson are 3, are never included, or any copyrighted information. Without question this was the main site for live Tull, hopefully this will shift over to the Traders Den, also to my knowledge tightly and legally run. If I thought all this would result in their truly going after those thousands of sites that illegally use copyrighted information, I would think, ok, its worth the fight. Hope Dime A Dozen, a sight that truly covers so many musical territories outside the norm, everything really, is already back up and running as I type this. Amongst other things Traders Den covers nowhere near as much ground, nearly all rock.

Problem is the $h1te copyright laws of individual countries and the interpretation of them.
Didn't The Dead allow audience taping of shows ? In that case what would be the penalties now of anyone sharing those recordings on blog site or similar ?

The bottom line is very good news, I done been punked, fooled, geeked, all dat. Just a well executed April Fool's joke. A bit of sleuthing over at Traders Den on their discussion page revealed the joke, a very well executed and officious looking page, you merely need to click on the eagle to gain entry, I think someone said they had used the same one last year, must not have looked that day. btw if u are unaware, this full bore musical wonderland, very likely the single most wonderful music oriented outlet of any kind that I have ever encountered can be found here. www.dimeadozen.org. Probably ten times the amount of Tull as Traders den, and covering a gamut that literally includes everything I can think of, even a robust amount of classical and jazz and ethnic music. Yeah Mr G, the Dead ethos always did and still does include the "sharing" of the music, including having a tapers section after years and years of some tapers taking an overly priveleged approach and affecting the enjoyment of normal concert goers. Jerry's specific quote was after we're done with it, they can have it.

The tapers' section at dead concerts always looked surreal from a trippy distance...many of the tapers attached microphones to crutches and canes, hand-held and swaying or thumping with the beat....looked like a revolt brewing on leper island or something...not so diff from today when everyone profers their electronic device in the sky to suck in electrons for future consumption.
