Hi Guys, after several Years away and enjoying reading posts I thought it time to return.I used to be as big a fan as anyone but have really struggled with Ians direction in latter Years but thats another Story. Back around 83 , I wrote to Peter Vettese asking if he had a souvenir from a Tull tour and he kindly sent me a pair of Ians stage trousers (atretch pants really)apparently made for Ian for the "Broadsword" tour.Ian did not like the Pinkish Red colour and gave them to Peter. Also In 82 as A keen Nottingham Forest fan I saw in the programme that Martin ONeill was a keen Tull fan. I exchanged letters with him , sent him a few rare bootlegs and got him a "Broadsword" T Shirt. To my grateful surprise in return he sent me A northern Ireland International Shirt worn by himself! (this was in the days before replica shirts so it seemed even more special!)I never met martin,we spoke once by phone and spoke of seeing Tull together In Birmingham during the 87 "Knave" tour but sadly it did not happen The Football shirt remains a treasured possession , as for the trousers it may be time to sell them on to someone who still sees Ian as the "Rock God" that I once did

Funnily enough I never thought of trying them on (might be to do with the fact they looked to small for me even more so nowadays!) I have the letter from Peter too as provenance . A few times I have thought of putting them on Ebay, but then wondered if i might wish I had kept them.

I'd keep them if I were you 'cos in a few years time they'll be worth a fortune Welcome to the Jethro Tull Forum, glad you made it here. Maddog

It's good to have you on the forum tim I was interested reading about Martin O'Neill being a Tull fan, I didn't know that! As for the pants, if they're on the small size it's maybe best you don't try them on. Well, not without wearing a codpiece ;D Any chance of posting a photograph of them? Cheers bunkerfan
